I like how you can hear John Robinson (color commentator) clapping when Merrick made the kick...he knew the significance of the whole thing. What an amazing, amazing story
I was an '89 MU grad living in Charlotte with my wife and infant daughter so I had to watch it on tv. We go up 28-0 and my heart was soaring. They came back and tied it at 28-28 and I thought we would lose. Willie Merrick made the kick heard round the world and I jumped for joy (and scared my 10 month old daughter). He now lives in my city, Columbus, and is a teacher and soccer coach. He later signed the framed photo I have of the kick.
I can't watch this viseo without a smile coming to my face and my eyes tearing up. I remember standing in the middle of the field crying while they played the whole version of We Are the Champions and it was like it had been written for that very moment.
I was at that game as a 9 year old. I had been in the USA for only a few months, and didn't have a clue what football was. I was told that we were playing the YSU Penguins, so I searched the field for real penguins.

Somewhere I still have this game on tape. With the movie coming out, all of America will know Marshall's story.

Man.. memories!! My first Herd championship game. I was 10 at the time. I've never missed a home game since my first 92' playoff game.
