  • Bioware or someone else need to make an 8 bit version of mass effect right now

  • wow imagine that lol a nintendo Mass Effect, sweet

  • dude if they made mass effect like an old school Nintendo game I would definitely buy it. I wouldn't leave my apartment for a week.

  • and now make this in 4-bit :D

  • @DJJohnLX

if it were 4-bit all we wil hear is static

  • Oh fuck yes. I wish there was a cheat to make all music 8 bit hehe

  • This song is so cute :3

  • i love this!!! cannot stop listening to it.

  • I downloaded the song and the bit rate is at 320kbps! What manner of tom foolery is this?

  • @LongandGeneric Hi-fi Square/Sine/Saw waves, feels good man. I also apparently mixed the tracks into stereo for the MP3.

  • This actually SOUNDS 8-bit, which is more than I can say for most 8-bit remixes. VERY well done.

  • 8-bit features reminds me of the Sega Master System, rather than the NES

  • And it's still awesome!

  • Still epic...

  • I listen to this everyday! The quality is so high that I feel like I'm transported into my speakers.

  • @hans2point0 YOU USE MONSTER CABLES TO LISTEN TO EVERYTHING TOO?!?!?!1!?

  • @Fronz09 ahahahaha

  • Incoming message of the Reapers:

ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US

  • I like this, I like this alot. Thank you very much!

  • Looks like Spore

  • @HunterMarioWorld Spore looks like a galaxy.

  • Feels like the good old days of the NES XD

  • This is an amazing job. Also I love the 8-bit galaxy map. An 8-bit Mass Effect would be amazing, mainly for the music.

  • thank you very much for the midi.

  • For some reason I want an 8-bit Mass Effect game!

  • My favorite RPG

  • i find this better than the actual version, i can tolerate this lol

  • I am a biotic sprite!

  • Mass Effect might not have had gay romances had it been made in the 8-bit era...

  • @RodvyVideo You hear an 8-bit version of the galaxy map song and the first thing that pops into your head is "gay romance"? Really?

  • Comment removed

  • @xaviagrade My thoughts exactly :)

  • @RodvyVideo It didn't have gay romances in the first place. It could only be accomplished on PC via save hacking.

  • @shimazu32

You mean you haven't heard about Mass Effect 3?

  • @shimazu32 Unless you count Femshep/Liara, but Liara's technically genderless, so it only half counts.

  • @krakenkiller Liara isn't genderless. The asari are monogendered, meaning they have only one gender, i.e. female. Besides, the whole "Liara isn't technically a woman" thing was an excuse by the developers when they were asked why fem Shep could be lesbian but male Shep couldn't be gay.

    Also, fem Shep/Kelly definitely counts.

  • @xaviagrade fucking NERD

  • @Freedom21stCenturi Not really. Just knowing what the word "monogendered" actually means.

  • 6 people are indoctrinated by a Reaper

  • This stuff is like crack for my ears!

  • I'm commander shepard and this is my favorite game from 1990

  • Suicide mission+2lives=win

  • I love the sound of this, it's so damned cute. Yes, I said cute.

  • cool

  • mass effect for gameboy - damn i would buy that!!!

  • i don't think an 8 bit chip could have this many simultaneous voices. but this is still awesome none-the-less.

  • @speier how would you know? I've played alot of 8-bit games in my day that had the same simulataneous voices similar to this game. Forgot the names of them but yeh.

  • @pizzicatoblue 8-bit max to my understanding was 4 simultaneous sounds. When it came to games, they would typically use 3 for tracks, and leave 1 open for sounds (which is why you would notice sounds cut off when a new one plays).

  • Awesome!

    Great comments as well :D

  • I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite 8-bit remix.

  • Commander Shepard found his NES console

  • someone do this theme with an amiga pleeeease, the sound will explode our balls trought our minds

  • @santiagoeag Sounds painful

  • It 's rocking on the extranet :P

  • Am i the only one who clicked on the video screen, trying to choose a galaxy?

  • @Mcheetah Nope! :)

  • You can play it at half speed, double speed, backwards or as headache-inducing bleeps and bloops, and it STILL sounds great.

And when you can do that - that's when you know you have an epic piece of music. Jack Wall & Sam Hulick win at everything forever.

  • You know it's actually really interesting; after listening to this for a few times I started thinking about what some of the older soundtracks that I grew up to would sound like nowadays. Nice job on the song!

  • Blow out cartridge. Kill some reapers.

  • FUKKEN EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

  • press 240p for HD

  • Dude tears are falling down on my eyes, great adaptation. I wonder if you thought making it with other Mass Effect Themes.

    Rorkror, frome Spain.

  • That feeling you get when you're about to go to the Ilos Stage and you only have 2 lives left.

  • 240p for best quali and nostalgia!

  • lmfao!!! Mass Effect 3 should be NES-exclusive, that'd be hilarious, I'd pay 60 bux for that.

  • try it in 240p sounds way more nostalgic

  • this kinda rocks.

  • 5 people just don't believe that the Reapers are heading for Earth

  • @MrTrekkie204 Ah, yes, "Reapers."

  • please tell me there is a Nes Mass Effect i missed PLEASE

  • This is 10 fold compared to the actual game music...THANX HEAPS (3

  • This truly one of the best piece of music in video game of last years...It just fit perfectly, you open the map, and then, just in front of you, the infity of the universe, almost frightening, but this song in the background slowy reconfort you

  • Kabuki Quantum Fighter

  • @fr33kSh0w2012 Kabuki Quantum fighter is a game of champions

  • @sjcobra84 Oh that Game Well I finished it thought it was pretty easy though

  • @fr33kSh0w2012 Power your hair, cyberspace and rocktronic music.

  • @sjcobra84 Yep! those were the days before achievements, it was an achievement to actually get through a whole game back then.

  • Almost sounds like the 'Mortal Kombat' movie theme.

  • Probing uranus

  • mass-ception anyone?

  • thank you

  • really good work man

  • I'm feeling the possibility of an easter egg here

  • No disrespect but....Sam Hulick made an official 8 bit version...

    Seriously, it's epic!!!!

    /watch?v=NZdMWu4hvaI

THUMBS UP FOR OFFICIAL MASS EFFECT RELEASES!!!

  • Legendary.

  • Good work! Now I have the impression I played this game 17 years ago...

  • this....this here, ladies and gents, what we have here is simply fucking badass!

  • For some reason I feel like I've played this before...

    Fake nostalgia ftw!

  • This is LEGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT

  • I was wondering, would you mind if i used part of this for an intro clip to my gaming channel or something? :)

  • @akuradavis Sure, go ahead.

  • I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite song on the NES.

  • That background picture reminds me of Star Control 2. Good times, good times...

    Great 8-bit remix/version!

  • Someone needs to recreate all the little menu beeps and boops in NES sound hardware, so we can recreate the entire experience :)

  • weird weird weird-----

  • this music fitted the whole 'space exploration' thing in the galaxy map perfectly. really gave it a lonely feel. this music is great :)

  • Great!!

  • Didn't get why people liked this so hard in ME2, but I admit if I heard this version first in like, Master of Orion or something it would be the shit.

  • I would've loved having this as Starship Mario's theme in SMG2...

  • Do you have a midi of this?

  • @Max0Inq MIDI download is in the description now.

  • @Fronz09 Thanks! :D

  • Very nice. 8-bit Mass Effect would rock.

  • it's like if Mass Effect was on the Sega Master System. Awesome stuff

  • LoL))))

  • Oh man! This is pretty awesome :D Thanks for this.

  • GAH MY EARDRUMS HURT! but i still like it?

  • Wow. This sounds absolutely brilliant. I now really want you to do more songs from ME in this style.

    Also,

    GAME OVER

    RETURN OF REAPERS

    *evil laughing noise*

  • Great job, this sounds like the most awesome 8 bit music in the world... wow.. so well done :)

  • Can you loop this, cuz i could listen to it for hours

  • This would be great for a stage select theme for a Mega Man romhack...

  • Mass Effect for NES or SNES. It would be legendary :)

  • Ez mekkora :DD De nagyon jó :D

  • Man I remember playing Mass Effect on good ole Nintendo.. those were the days. :D

  • Win. :) I love this song. it is my favorite. I also love 8-bit music. this is epic! :D Rated up. by the way, you know the ostinato that's like: G, Bb, G, C, G, D? I like the placement that you gave it (slight delay. gives it a deeper, more complex 'beat' to it. :)

  • Too many instruments at once for true NES hardware to handle, but impressive nonetheless.

  • @WolfenNights With the MMC5 cartridge expansion chips the NES can have a total of 7 channels. I originally was going to use it but then I noticed a background part in the original song, which comes in at 0:19, so I used the VRC6 expansion chip which has 8 channels, but was only made for the FamiCom apparently. Anyway, if I dropped that part or moved the stuff on the 8th channel (repeating part at 0:16) onto the triangle channel the song could work on NES hardware sounding more or less the same.

  • Could you imagine Mass Effect in a Super Mario Bros format? That would be the greatest game ever!

  • Win. The End

  • download? plz ill subscribe :)

  • Do you have a MIDI version of this because I've been wanting to know what the notes are and my ear isn't all that great?

  • @A7XRules4life I do not, I used FamiTracker to write the song and it does not support exporting MIDI files, I do still have the tracker file though.

  • @Fronz09 try import the file with openmpt (on windows), openmpt supports midi-export

  • @XiIntersection I looked into that, and Famatracker's file format is not supported by openMPT, however I was able to export the song as a NSF, then convert it to a MIDI with the program NSF2MIDI. I cleaned up the Midi, and it is now available for download in the description.

  • lol awesome

  • This makes me smile. Very nice work!!

  • +internets for you. This is simply great. Why don't you du the main theme as well?

  • Sounds Beautiful!

  • oh man this is sick. AMAZING!

  • The video picture made me think of Star Trek: Judgment Rites

  • @75Hadouken Yes that's what I was thinking it really reminds me of one of those classic Star Trek games on DOS

or hell even the one on the SNES. Gave the uploader a big thumbs up. :D

  • Holy bleedin' fuck, this is amazing

  • This is awesome, please do more of this.

  • This is awesome, please do more of this.

  • Oh, this reminds me of Star Control 2! If ME looked like this I'd probably try playing it again...

  • 66 true old school gamers liked this video. Make that 67 :)

  • Amazing. Simply amazing.

I must make this my ring tone.

  • супер зачет))))

  • im kind of a Older Gamer, well, thing is, I loved the x-com games when i was young, and loved the music... the first time that i've played Mass effect was epic, cuz the music was soo in the same style as X-com terror from the deep... • Awesome!

It's a pity for the ending cut, but anyhow, it's fantastic!
