  • We use bell furnaces as well as belt furnaces.

  • where does the air in between the powder particles go?

  • It is replaced by the protective (or reactive as the case may be) atmosphere within the furnace. It is essentially a physical volume change replacement, not diffusion limited as it might be if the gas was tied up as a complex within the powder itself.
