  • maybe high quality but really expensive, mini DV md80 only 69 $ everyone can buy it

  • Just bought the new vio pov hd

Don't bother with anything else. Vio are the top dogs!

  • Very good review. Thanks

  • The population have been vaporised by aliens. He is the only survivor

  • our snow was much icier

  • I hate Winter! -28 Degrees!? Damn!! Id hate it! lol Good picture quality though!

  • how much is it?

  • anywhere from $600 to $1000 depending on the package you choose. If getting a new cam today I'd maybe look at something that offers true HD.

  • Hi, nice review, I have one question, is this video showing the 70 degree field of view camera head or the 110 degree field of view camera head? Thanks :)

  • It's the 70 deg head.

  • Very Good Review...

  • Shearch about gopro hero 5, it is a lot better, don't has this HD resolution but it record better images

  • The POV's pretty good, and after paying so much for it, I have a vested interest.

I'm hoping for a firmware upgrade that will allow for different compression settings.

  • How did you do to make it HD with the pov.1? I have pov.1 but when I uplode it's not in HD

  • Use winFF to convert with: avi, xvid 16:9 anamorphic, 2pass, 1280x720

  • @alexanderpehrsson

Pov doesn't capture HD footage, but rather standard footage.

All he did was stretch the picture size to 1280x720.

For example, if you take a 500x300 photo and stretch the photo to 1000x800, the quality of the picture will only get worse in quality because you've increased the size beyond the max resolution. The same is said for the video you're viewing.

If it wasn't recorded in HD, then its not HD, thats the point I'm making.

No disrespect to the video producer.

  • To the video producer. My comment wasn't directed to you as I'm sure you know all this already and you even gave a brief explanation.

My comment was directed to viewers who may think if they upscale DV quality video to 11280x720 or 1920x1080, that it will some how miraculously turn into HD quality. lol

By the way, I use the Voisport H2O for only biking at night with my NiteRider SlickRock 900 HID, Storm HID and Dinotte 400R light setup.

About to purchase a ContourHD 1080 or GoProHD.

  • TYPO: Meant to say 1280x720, not 11280x720. lol

  • no worries. I can't take offense to the truth.

  • Nice job, SlyRonin.

btw, your neighborhood is awesome with all that snow! Kinda like the Twilight Zone though without any people around you lol

  • Ahhhh I love it. So nice.

  • ah the mic is on the actual wire itself i thought it was on the camera if thats the case then it will work perfect for vlogging

  • sorry for the late response... that is the case. It's all one cord. I just stuff the part with the mic into the helmet.

  • hmm is it possible to mount inside the helmet like on the cheek pad?ive been interested in a proper helmet cam setup but i have to figure out a way to mount it so i can get good audio and video while im vlogging i want to go the in helmet meathod but i dont know if it will work

  • I mount the cam on top of my helmet, and since the audio is on the same cord that connects to the camera, I loop it back down into the helmet, around the cheekbone area. I'll try to get a pic of the inside of the helmet with the cord in there...

  • How much recording time on a 4gig SD card?

    What is the battery life?

  • on a 4GB card at 720x480 you can get 2 hr 50 min

    8GB 5 hr 45 min

the batteries will last you the duration of the 8GB card for sure. On the trip I used the same 4 rechargeable every day, and just had to recharge at night.

  • Dang, looks great and sounds great!

  • cheers :)

  • hey, my vio pov arrived today, can't wait to get vlogging on it, the chasecam is now going on ebay. i wasn't sure whether or not to get it but this footage made up my mind for me, thanks :)

  • Glad I could help. I did list the pros and cons, so you know what you're getting into... Things that would make this cam really money: HD, more distant focus point, wind noise filter, record to DV.

  • i have a yoga em8 mic which i use on the chasecam, i'm hoping that it will help on the vio with wind noise. i think the next step up though is the new sony hxr-mc1unit, but that's £2500

  • wow, that sony looks cool, but that's way out of my price range.

  • Nice quality there. I'm not a fan of cords though...

  • neither, but it's only 1 cord. The dvr fits in my pocket, and the cord runs up through my jacket, so I don't really notice it.

  • The only thing I worry about with those cameras is durability and quality of sound (I know they will pick up bike noise but how about speech when riding?)

  • It's pretty good for picking up my voice. you loose a lot of the engine sound, especially at higher speeds. Anything over 70mph and you need to raise your voice a lot.. not shout, but talk loud.

  • is that the camera that's costs like 600 bucks?

  • yep
