  • AWESOME! BETTER THAN ORIGNAL!

  • The best part about pantera is that they are amazing at making covers!

  • No way is this Phil singing.

  • @he might have added additional vocals on this track but its all Pantera.

  • This is Ozzy's voice?

  • @Littbarski14 lol no its not?

  • @Littbarski14 No. I think the same thing too.

  • Heard this on Rhapsody's metal radio tonight ... blew me away. When was this recorded, anyone know? I was never aware they covered this one.

  • How could anyone hear this and NOT want to launch a nuclear atack on someplace?

  • The band was originally named Pantera's Metal Magic and consisted of Vinnie Paul Abbott on drums, Dimebag Darrell Abbott (called Diamond Darrell at that time) on guitar, Donnie Hart on vocals, Terry Glaze on guitar, and Tommy Bradford on bass.

  • Forsooth! 'Tis more than an ode! 'Tis a blessing for our lobes from Dimebag in Valhalla!

    This post now concludeth!

  • @YeBlackKnight I started talking like this after I took an arrow to the knee....sorry.

  • amazing song!!!!!

  • who sings?

  • @chemicalJK phil

    derp

  • the best song in the world and the best cover in the world!

  • This sucks, Black Sabbath's is waaay better

  • @Thelonesniper101 You suck , Bitch

  • @MyPowerslave666 Go fuck your mom

  • @Thelonesniper101 ...of course it is...fail troll=fail at life...take that shit somewhere else go baits some kids or somethin

  • It's nearly 4 in the morning and I am drunk on overproof scotch and then I hear Pantera cover Sabbath! Awesome.

  • Pantera does some of the best Sabbath covers I've ever heard. Electric Funeral and Planet Caravan are just as good, if not better than, the originals. They know how to take a song and add their own personal touch to it without taking anything away from the original. Not an easy feat to accomplish when doing covers. Long live Pantera and Sabbath!!

  • phenomenal cover

  • Great version and proving that Sabbath invented doom, speed, thrash and most other true metal.

  • 11.11.11 BLACK SABBATH REUNION!!

  • R.I.P. DIMEBAG :( MISS YOU BRO!!!!

  • PANTERA RULES!!!! Phil sounds just like Ozzy on this!!!! Dimebag does a great job playing guitar on this great cover of this Black Sabbath Classic!!!!!

  • he s copy ozzy voice

  • @trikefearson

Of course! Hope they come to my country \m/

  • Is every one as excited as I am that Black Sabbath will be reunited for the first time in 33 years to record a new album and go on a world tour??!!!?!

  • @trikefearson yes

  • @trikefearson fuck yes!!!!

  • Outstanding!

  • one of THE BEST Sabbath covers! Pantera still rules! RIP Dimebag! \m/ Nuff said!

  • You fucking idiots its ozzy whos sings the song not phill!!! Idiots!!!

Phill only sings at the end of the songs you ignorants!!!!!!

  • @emmathrash actually it is Phil the whole time, you are the "ignorants."

  • @TomaxMindbender

SEarch better man, was in colaboration with ozzy this song....

  • @emmathrash You, sir, are truly a fucking moron. Completely brain dead, you'd have to be.

  • @emmathrash fail troll :(

  • oh hell fucking yeah!!1

  • i really like this!!!!!!!!!!

  • la gloria

  • impostors all. Kindergarten authors of descriptive prose of a place they cannot even know in their worst dreams. Lullabies . Only the insane would give homage to such a place. Mark these words.

  • Phil should sing more like Phil in this cover. Cavaler did a great cover of this one recently. Max made the song hs own

  • This is from a Sabbath tribute album yes? I suppose he felt it was more fitting/fun to do an Ozzy imitation

  • Pantera you FAIL...at disappointing me, once again. \m/

  • what is this off of?

  • Wow, he sounds like a manlier Ozzy xD

  • @TheGroumpfy The Prince of F*king Darkness supercedes manliness

  • Makes me sad listoning to this. Miss this band so much.

  • R.I.P. Dimebag. BTW phil does a good ozzy voice lol

  • a minha musica favorita do black sabbath, muitissimo bem interpretada pelo pantera.

  • me piace piallo ar culo

  • @SlipknotMaggot742617

    ahahahahahah!!!

credevi che nessun italiano te leggesse?!?!?!?

    AH FROCIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    (se scherza eh!!!)

  • Pantera is just unable to disappointment me

  • I miss the wah-wah at the start and whatnot...

  • great cover, i love pantera and it's cool to hear them cover one of the best songs of my most favourite band of all time...

  • that fucking outro is BADASS!!!!! i love pantera covers

  • This cover of "Electric Funeral" is much like Exorder's "Into the Void" cover.... the shiznit

  • Dang! This is basically like an updated version of electric funeral. All the members of the band kill it (in a VERY GOOD way)! Very awesome!

  • Not bad. I agree with a lot of the comments about Phil's voice. It's too bad he didn't give it more range. Like deeper vocals to make it more grim. He also missed out on some nice places to scream, such as "pyre" at the end of the second verse, not to mention all the "electric funeral" parts at the end of the that middle section. Everything else was great. All in all it was a good Pantera song.

  • sabbath is better!!!!!

  • Dude they killed it man!!! RIP DIME!!!

  • MASTERPIECE

  • Dang Phil really matched Ozzy's voice at the beginning

  • i love it, now that i've heard the full version of the cover, i really didn't like pantera's SCream the whole damn song crap but i like this alot

  • Hmm, is this even pantera? - it sounds like ozzy osbourne? :O

  • You know what's a damn shame? Pantera never got the chance to release an album of covers *sigh*.

  • doesentrt sound like pantera sounds like a mdern day version of Black Sabbath playing it if u as kme

  • Comment removed

  • man this rocks u know you invented metal when someone can come along 20 some odd years later with a completely different tone and gear and such and it sounds just as good timeless stuff timeless

  • A well done cover, pretty fitting, not overdone, beautiful.

  • I wish Phil wouldve given it more of his aggressive voice instead of a copy of ozzy.

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx, he does......?

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx yeah, but in fairness its very hard to get close to ozzy and if he was trying to sound like ozzy he hit the nail on the fuckin head

  • @TheAidenFace I know, but im just saying i wish he put his Vulgar Display voice in this instead

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx If you want an agressive version of this look up Cavelera Conspiracy.

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx naw he did it perfectly...not too much n not too less....freak

  • @Tully299 Shut up

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx he gave a much more aggressive voice to hole in the sky. this one they kept it close to the original, but dime added some heaviness, especially at the end.

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx I agree, but I'm really surprised out how good of a copy it is...

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx

It is a doom song, aggressive vocals would have ruined it. He is not angry, he is giving a doom filled warning for the future, it is morn full and serious not aggressive.

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx Me too: I do however like that ultra low octave he sang along with it though!!!

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx well at least it shows another side of phils potential

  • @xXThePhilosopherXx I think he did a good job with the song, but he just prolly didn't want to try to hard and make it sound that way. But, I love this version.

  • Good Stuff. Sabbath was one of my faves... Darrell had his shit together. Miss him

  • @Markoh2020 Musically, yes..but he was a super alcoholic. I wouldn't have started playing guitar if it wasn't for him, but that's the damn truth. Hell, look at Rex now, pancreatitis, surgery, and he still won't lay off of the bottle, so he's not in Down anymore. :/

  • @dime133 Seriously, booze and drugs are the biggest enemy of good singers, whether in metal or rock. Chris Cornell managed to kick off drugs and booze early in his career, which is why hes still singing like a beast and still has an awesome range. Phil Anselmo destroyed his vocals undoubtedly with the dope, smokes and booze. a little bit here and there is alright, but honestly speaking, the music should be enough, fuck drugs, doobie now and again is ok, but not at the expense of screwin ur vocals

  • @Markoh2020 u mean Sabbath is one of your faves :D.

  • Fuckin Awesome!

  • Can you say metal!!!

  • DIME IS A GOD AND WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. RIP DIME WE MIS YOU.

  • That first line is so chilling, "Reflex in the sky, warns you you're gonna die", just chilling.

  • Vinnie is a great drummer but I always disliked the way his drums sound / are recorded / treated.

Anyway, I find Phil does a good job and it's a good tribute. The last section is great, pure Pantera style.

  • what effect does it have on the vocals?

  • Damn it hardly sounds like phil. He sounding like Ozzy.....Badd ass

  • Phil is a great singer. Dime was a great guitarist. That is all I can think to say

  • Probably my favorite cover of all time. I would have to say Pantera can cover as good as anyone.

  • they didn't manage to give the dark tone that sabbath give to this song

  • @patounboy I don't know, I think they pulled it off pretty well

  • @McSassin89 yes i agree with you it's a pretty good cover

  • @patounboy Epic cover

  • this is an awesome cover

  • Comment removed

  • Great cover of a great song.

  • sabbath is better.... reunion version - is fantastic

  • a good cover can barley tell the diffrence

  • Phil actually sounds a bit like Ozzy in this. lol

  • Even though Pantera are good, i think Cavalera Conspiracy did a better cover.

Black Sabbath > Cavalera Conspiracy > Pantera.

  • @OlyyB cc is horse shit in my opinion. Saying they're better than Pantera should be a sin.

  • you can really tell phil's fucked up on this one man!

that heroin really mes him up.

  • @1EMERGENCE You're a dick

  • Black Sabbath and Pantera my 2 favourite bands besides anal cunt.

  • @Acecard1984 what about (no more skin left) they are a good band or even (the marble head johnsons) they are a good band, or even (your next door neighbors are sunworshiping slaves) or (the anty spanner hand shakes). or (billly and the bollox) all good bands check them out

  • Sabbath

  • Pantera gives it the heavier, more powerful sound. I go with Pantera on this one.

  • @IwantmyMTVback No one can play heavier than Sabbath.

  • @zeppelin1996

    electric wizard.

  • @Meatsparkle No one means no one.

  • umm i go with sabbath:)

  • i always loved anselmos voice over sabbath style or straight up sabbath tunes. just feels like it works..

probably why time is mine is soooooooooo bad ass iommi and anselmo just work

  • Why do people have the need to start a flame war?

  • everyone shut the fuck up and jam to some pantera :D

  • Nobody gets close to Pantera for Sabs covers!

  • @TheKlabee Even though your right and all, Internet arguements never profit anything, just ignore idiots, and listen to the excellent music Pantera created.

  • The Best Black SABBATH'S Cover Ever :DDDDDDD <3

  • Phil alselmo talks about loving the dio/sabbath era and about Neon knight being the first metal song he performed on stage when he was 13, then why do a sabbath tribute with several songs of ozzy era?

  • Fucking Awesome they did it justice but then again it's Pantera \m/

  • Phil, is that you?

  • Woah..... This is HEAVY

  • PantaerA fucking best every R.I.P Dime

  • PanterA always plays good Sabbath covers. \m/

  • Gotta say, Pantera is doing it right.

  • it would be neat if dime threw in one his wicked solos .. but then again , it wouldn't suit the song , or else tony iommi would have done it long back .

  • Ode to da Dimebag! All hail to the greatness of Pantera

  • Radiation Mind Decay

  • What album is this song in?

  • @METALFREAK0101 It's on "Nativity In Black II: A Tribute To Black Sabbath" which was released in 2000 and features various artists performing Black Sabbath classics.

  • @Pi8ikorockas96 Ok, thanks man..

  • I don't know how people can dislike this video Phil did an amazing job on the vocals it was just like if not better than ozzys and Dimebag anything he plays on guitar is amazing....so stop hating haters!

  • @BUZZCUT1231 Me either. I think Pantera really did this song justice.

  • Is this on an album of any sorts? If so...I'm fucking GETTING it.

  • holy shit what a cover! i personally dont give a shit about the dislikes people leave on videos but i cant see no reason anyone should dislike this. it stays loyal to the original version while still adding some cool elements on the process.

  • This cover is way better than when Pantera did HOle in the sky, i didnt care for that one much as this one

  • I personally prefer the Sabbath version... just seems more fitting to the song.

  • @ChristianEstrada1 yeah, original one sound dark and dull (in a good way)... this one sounds brighter

  • @ChristianEstrada1 Original seems more fitting to the original?

  • @ChristianEstrada1 yup....but this ain't bad.....

  • @ChristianEstrada1 fist time listening to this song i tought ozzy sings it

  • @ChristianEstrada1 although phil gets it sooo accurate

  • @jordcarg thats his idols some of their first songs they ever played lol

  • @ChristianEstrada1 ikr this version is heavier but sabbaths is sludgier and darker

  • @ChristianEstrada1

    of course it is.

but this shit is still incredible.

  • JNVBR"DEGCVUORI vbgi[fajnfav

Sorry, just had to wipe the cum off my keyboard.

  • One of the rare cases where the cover is better than the original

  • Dimebag is burning in hell right now ..... and loving it!

  • Phil has the perfect voice to cover Sabbath. "nuff said.

  • Phil has the perfect voice to cover Sabath. "nuff said.

  • I like both versions Sabbath's is a little creepyier and sets like a weird mood but this one has the groove metal feel

  • This song is twice as good to get high to!

  • Sit back and enjoy Panetera and Black Sabbath Excellent blend... I am a Christian and love both these bands I wonder what that makes me? Am I hypocrite I think not.. Ozzy has a way with writing songs that are somewhat accurate and I can tell some of his inspiration came from the bible.. Take it or leave it

  • @merleisme1 i think he was branded the name "prince of darkness" and kinda ran with it (sold out). the media tries to paint metal bands as satanist when theyre actually the complete opposite. theyre actually warning the people about how the worlds messed up and how we need to change it. the demons pay them off to keep quiet. they own them once they sign the record deal. thats why artist/actors have so many "accidental" deaths. satan is blinding you from the truth, research the new world order

  • shit

  • Gooooooooosebumps!! FUCKIN RESPECT TO PANTERA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 36 ppl can go and die in hell..... hellyeah :)

  • Swear to God The remote of my TV behind me JUMPED off the TV while I was headbanging to this just now! MY HOUSE IS HAUNTED!!!!
