@dinoboy501 You need to find every animal and plant. Then a secret passageway opens, you hop on a pterosaur, and it flies you to the salt desert.

You're not missing much, though. The game gets boring after about half an hour when you've discovered everything. However it is kind of fun to look at all the glitches and strange behavior the animals showcase. Sometimes they walk into cliffs and disappear.

It's a primitive game in which you explore different terrains and watch dinosaurs do their stuff. You can't control them, but one area lets you create two kinds of dinosaurs to see what they do to each other. It's like an interactive documentary, and even has a narrator.

@Tanzaken You can only follow them around, but the game lets you tag them with a camera to "ride" them, and there is an area where you can create your own dinosaurs.

Looking for glitches is more fun. Like when a dinosaur walks off into a cliff and disappears or when two dinos fuse together..

It actually can work on Vista:

First you must right click the dinosaur_world_high.exe (or dinosaur_world_low.exe, whichever you've chosen). Then you must click "Properties", and set the Compatibility mode to Windows XP Service Pack 2. Hope that helped someone.

@IAmVortex1 dude you need to get on the cliff in the desert and wait for the flying pterosaur to come then press t for the ride and don't untag the t or u will come down. wait till the pterosaurs drop you off!

Note:you could place a camera on the pterosaur just in case you want to go back!

You know, that was pretty nice considering that game was pretty random. The scenes couldn't be gotten 100% right since its a , well, random game. But one thing funny is that the Diplodocus are feeding on the salt. A bit of minor mistake in the game.XD

Still, it's better than the glitch during which an Allosaurus "attacks" a deceased Diplodocus, jumps onto the air above the carcass, biting and clawing it, as if the animal was still standing there.

Or when several Allosaurus "fuse together", giving you a multi-headed, multi-legged, multi-tailed freak of a game model.

It's a weird game. :|

4. If you have nothing to do, and would like to spend half an hour in some goofy CG Jurassic scenery and look at a couple of badly animated dinosaurs, while listening to a fairly decent scientific narration, yes. Also, the animation glitches are funny.

I never experienced it, so I cannot help, but there is a section on its website that deals with these sort of things. Perhaps you should check. If it still doesn't work, then I have no idea.

i have this game too. i usuall just lay around some allosaur and diplodicus and go do something else. by the time i always come back i see 3 dead diplodicus and at least 2 wounded allosaur. can someone please tell me what happens if u play for a long period of time and something special happens?

Where did you get the Salt Plains? I honestly think if you could convert this map into a VMF file, you could use Hammer World Editor to configure it to your liking, and reconvert it to whatever file type it was originaly.

its not a hack, just a secret area only acsessible via Ramphorincus and rocks. You see when you find everything in the game the guy will say the following "A big rockslide has ocoured in the desert. Go see if it leads somewhere." Go to the desert, find the big pile of rocks and go up it. Then wait for the pterosaur to cime and grab it. then Poof! your in the salt lake. but its harder than ive told you so look at the contols first

Okay, I got the game...but how long does it take for you to get to the salt plains? Right now I'm at the part where the mother is waiting at her nest or something. I'm pretty sure I've completed all the challenges...I've found everything at least.

If you've found everything (be sure to check the field-guide in every region to make sure you haven't missed anything), you'll get news about a rockfall in the desert region. Once there, you can climb up on the rocks to tag a pterosaur, which will fly you to the salt plains.

as long as your trip goes on, some rocks in the dessert fall (the game will tell you) and you can climb them, then you can see the little pterosaur and "catch" it with the camera, you just have to be with him until he reach the path to the Salt Plains

If you're into exploring low-quality landscapes with questionably rendered Walking with Dinosaurs animals that sometimes walk through objects with no effort, yes. But it's not bad for an old 20 MB 'prototype' game.

There's no Allosaurus at the Mossy Plains, only at the Dried-up Rived Bed, the Desert region, in the Forest, and of course you can create as many as you want on the salty place.
