@sr71ablackbird that's what this show is about... all choirs need something to work on, and do you think that they would sing it if they didn't make a deal with the band? that would be illegal. and i think that journey is happy to get some publicity after a long time since they were successfull :)) otherwise they wouldn't let them sing their songs - that includes all artists. it doesn't even matter, it's not my problem that you don't like it.

do you even watch the series? cause in the last half of season 2 they actually write their own songs.

I think the point it, that they don't "rip off" the songs. They have to ask permission to sing other artist's songs. :P

I think Glee makes it to where the younger generation can be exposed to the older songs and get more musically exposed.

And, FromMars is right. School choirs and show choirs do it all the time. They're not ripping them off. I think of it more as paying tribite to the great bands that have been that are obviously still great. :-)

I think both versions are good, no need to pick and choose.

Rachel's voice just does something which you can't describe, it's powerful and beautiful. Plus, her voice with Cory's/Finn's is amazing! So strong and just breathtaking.

Also, the Glee storyline fits with this song amazingly giving the song a whole lot more meaning then the original.

But.. Journey, they're amazing! Legends! they created this song & made it what it is! Take a moment to remember why Glee covered it in the first place!
