I am having problems with system repair engineer. When I change .exe to .com, it shows that "The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x85 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher." It seems the douche who created this virus seems to have updated it, when i downloaded the process manager tools, none of them had that funny icon which clearly shows the virus, the process that was running Win 7 Antispyware 2012 was called irn.exe. Hope that helps the rest of you.

@vahju98 Another tip based on your renaming tip is if you have another web browser installed like chrome is to rename it to chrome.com. I was then able to download the files you mentioned with no problems.

if your on the administrator account of your computer you dont have to rename each file, all you have to do is right click the program, and hit "Run as Administrator" and the program will boot right up, but great tutorial, i finnaly got rid of mine, i fell for it thinkin there was virus's on my computer i deleted some items i didnt need to, but i can easily get them back, thanks for the tutorial again.
When I'm at the download tab, i press it and it says the warning 'is an executable file, may contain..." and then i get to the tab where i have the option to run or cancel, but after i click run, it doesnt do anything after that

Hey Britec. I recently had acquired this virus. With your help, I had managed to remove it from my pc. Now, My pc is running smooth as ever. Oh, and also, if you download MalawareBytes and if you open your desktop icon version of it, it will bring up a fishy Administrator login screen, very similar to those which as used for regular users without account permissions to access the file. What you need to do is to right click MalawareBytes and go to file location. Then run mbam.exe and youre set!!

From what I could tell, ctrl-shift-esc would open up task manager for me, and killing the process was able to give me enough time to remove things, but the BFE removal is still giving me trouble.

If you right click any of your desktop icons... their is an option of "run as administrator" ..... typically it wont be blocked. I have been able to access my anti-virus programs and the internet by using that option.

@dtmpowerboss Do what I did. I attempted to "Kill process and delete file" on each item registered to Microsoft Corporation. If attempted to delete some a pop-up will say "Are you sure you want to delete this? Microsoft's signature is verified" or something similar to that. DO NOT DELETE THOSE. Keep trying to delete "Microsoft Corporation" files until you get the one without that notification.

Thanks for posting. I'm in safe mode, with portable .com UVK Process Manager. I don't see any executable path that matches what you have although I very clearly have the Win XP virus on my laptop. There are only 7 listed exe. paths listed in UVK's PM, 3 paths from Microsoft. 2 have same icon(a small box or window) 3rd icon looks like a monitor which says C:\Windowsexplore.exe. As it's 1 of 3 with different icon, thinking this is the one to kill but not sure. How can I tell? Thanks for your help.
@CeliaKaytTyll Best thing to do is reboot into Safe-Mode with Networking and run Malwarebytes from there. That should clean up that rogue nice and easy for you.

if your on the administrator account of your computer you dont have to rename each file, all you have to do is right click the program, and hit "Run as Administrator" and the program will boot right up, but great tutorial, i finnaly got rid of mine, i fell for it thinkin there was virus's on my computer i deleted some items i didnt need to, but i can easily get them back, thanks for the tutorial again.

When I'm at the download tab, i press it and it says the warning 'is an executable file, may contain..." and then i get to the tab where i have the option to run or cancel, but after i click run, it doesnt do anything after that

Hey Britec. I recently had acquired this virus. With your help, I had managed to remove it from my pc. Now, My pc is running smooth as ever. Oh, and also, if you download MalawareBytes and if you open your desktop icon version of it, it will bring up a fishy Administrator login screen, very similar to those which as used for regular users without account permissions to access the file. What you need to do is to right click MalawareBytes and go to file location. Then run mbam.exe and youre set!!

From what I could tell, ctrl-shift-esc would open up task manager for me, and killing the process was able to give me enough time to remove things, but the BFE removal is still giving me trouble.

This sneaky bastard got me when I least expected it. I just went to make myself a sandwich and my explorer was closed and I saw it pseudo-scanning. Does it carry spyware properties? Or is it just a sham for people to waste their money?

Thank you so much for the detailed, step by step procedure to get rid of that nasty virus! I used your video on both my mom's computer and my own. I do have one question though, I removed the virus from her computer but it keeps showing that her computer protection 's(McAfee) firewall shuts off automatically... does this have anything to do with it?

If you right click any of your desktop icons... their is an option of "run as administrator" ..... typically it wont be blocked. I have been able to access my anti-virus programs and the internet by using that option.

@dtmpowerboss Do what I did. I attempted to "Kill process and delete file" on each item registered to Microsoft Corporation. If attempted to delete some a pop-up will say "Are you sure you want to delete this? Microsoft's signature is verified" or something similar to that. DO NOT DELETE THOSE. Keep trying to delete "Microsoft Corporation" files until you get the one without that notification.

Hey Britec, the last activation code you posted worked on mine. I messed up and got this on a computer at work (oops.)
It unlocked the full version but where do I go to delete it? I don't know what it calls itself. It's says its "Win7 Anitspyware 2012" but of course it's not found anywhere. Any help ASAP would be much appreciated!!!

Help! I had this, but i got my taskmgr opened it, ended the process, and deleted the host file for Win7 AntiSpyware, and now i cant use several windows tools and whenever i go to open program it asks me what to open it with and i have to point it to the .exe. Im on my desktop, this happened to my laptop. Please help.

My question is are Malwarebytes and Emsisoft Anti-Malware doing the same thing thus only one or the other is needed? I already tried Malwarebytes trial and can't use it for free again.

Thanks for posting. I'm in safe mode, with portable .com UVK Process Manager. I don't see any executable path that matches what you have although I very clearly have the Win XP virus on my laptop. There are only 7 listed exe. paths listed in UVK's PM, 3 paths from Microsoft. 2 have same icon(a small box or window) 3rd icon looks like a monitor which says C:\Windowsexplore.exe. As it's 1 of 3 with different icon, thinking this is the one to kill but not sure. How can I tell? Thanks for your help.

@CeliaKaytTyll Best thing to do is reboot into Safe-Mode with Networking and run Malwarebytes from there. That should clean up that rogue nice and easy for you.
