get ur facts right. all the melodies come from the corpus of hungarian folk songs. i should know i had studied music in hungary.brahm WAS touring hungary to get hold of those tunes which then served as basis of those dances. why the hell do u think they are called hungarian dances? i did not speak badly of him. i recognise him to be one of the greatest composers. but in this case you are wrong.
how could he write it? he did not write the hungarian dances. he toured hungary and put down all the folk tunes. that was the basis. then he created music for orchestra.
Es precisamente lo que siento... esos intervalos de melancolia tan honda y a la vez esa alegria tan perfecta, pero efimera que se siente en esta danza rusa

Bhrams is much more Hungarian from the folcloric point of view than for ex. Liszt.
But I think the music of Liszt is way more Hungarian when it comes to the "feeling".

yeah i agree with that.

get ur facts right. all the melodies come from the corpus of hungarian folk songs. i should know i had studied music in hungary.brahm WAS touring hungary to get hold of those tunes which then served as basis of those dances. why the hell do u think they are called hungarian dances? i did not speak badly of him. i recognise him to be one of the greatest composers. but in this case you are wrong.

how could he write it? he did not write the hungarian dances. he toured hungary and put down all the folk tunes. that was the basis. then he created music for orchestra.

Es precisamente lo que siento... esos intervalos de melancolia tan honda y a la vez esa alegria tan perfecta, pero efimera que se siente en esta danza rusa

I'd say this is the darkest/saddest of the hungarian dances (although I have not heard all of them, so correct me if I'm wrong).

Muy bella interpretacion, pero me gustaria con una orquesta mas reforzada, mas grande. Le falta fuerza en la dinamica.
Esta obra es de lo mas monumental de Brahms.

Terrific song by Brahms. Not as famous as No 5, but I think this one is the best.

very excellant!
That'd be great if I could play it with an orchestra :D

i must say that i love the vibrato going on.
i'm still working on mine because it is kind of weak right now. i'll be at this level soon. i promise.
i've been in orchestra for two years now and i'm now at an advance level so i'll get there soon.
:)
