There is a wise saying; " It's not where we came from but the goals we reach what counts.". Regards to all of you from a Hungarian living abroad. PEACE

1848 elött the Hungarians did not hate the Romanians the Slovaks the Serbians only Joseph Frank emperor wanted to break the Hungarians off, because the largest nation in Austria-Hungary monarchia was the Hungarian because of this fired the minorities against the Hungarians.

  • orgasm at 1:08

  • Wow!

  • Spooky, but the conductor does look just like Liszt... Uncanny. It could be him reincarnate. I would't doubt it.

  • Awesome. Bravo Hungary!!!! Geniuses were born in Hungary... I applaude Hungary!!! Love your tallent, and music. So inspiring!!!!

  • @mbabitt hahha :))) gay joke from a stupid gypsy guy

  • @razvan1928

We are proud, that we have such good musicians. I know that here live lots of gypsies, but it isn't the fault of simple citizens. It is NOT our fault, that here live a lot of gypsies, but it IS your fault, that you're so stupid, that you grade us down because of the gypsies. You don't even know our culture, but i wish, if you will never know anything about us. You're a little fuck behind a shitty computer, come here, and say it to my face, and I promise, you won't live much longer.

  • @12bgergo Transilvania=ROMANIA

  • This is Johannes Brahms

  • this may have been said, but the conductor looks exactly like Franz Liszt :O.

  • o.0

  • Excelso.

  • This one and the number 5 are the two most beautiful hungarian dances.

  • I love this one! But I prefer it a little faster.

  • Lélekemelő hallgatni ezt a gyönyörű muzsikát.

  • clap clap clap

  • Amazing sound for such small orchestra!! Here the Italian musicality is clear!!

    Bravi!!!

  • magnifique!

  • I am second generation American. All grandparents are from Hungary. Went to a Catholic Hungarian school. Sorry to say no one in the family taught us to speak Hungarian. Very sad about as its a hard lanuage to learn. The hardest.I rememeber the Hungarian picnics at a Remorfed Church that had the hungarian instrament and my Grandfather taught me how to dance..

  • @ITSKABIB OK, its not your fault. Here is the first step to make up for the loss:

    I LOVE HUNGARY - SZERETLEK MAGYARORSZÁG !

  • I really love how the first & second violins are enjoying themselves :D

  • GYÖNYÖRŰ

  • Brahms is an amazing example of Romanticism !

  • Hermosa Obra ^_^

  • I'm also from Hungary!!! :D Magyarok4EVER!!!!!

  • One of my favourite pieces by Brahms - many thanks from Dublin .

Long live the Magyars and their music -world class :)

  • I have to learn to play this song e.o...and I'm only in 7th grade....

  • cluelesscheese1 you mean just like life?

  • this song cracks me up! it goes from so tragically sad and jumps to super bubbly in an instant then back to sad and tragic then happy again then back, and so on

  • The extended version. :)

UpSky2, it's correct. What you call false, makes music more secret.

  • @atubbuta Thanks for letting me know that this performance is perfect. I had guessed that, somehow. :)

  • Great composer, great music! and what a great theme to draw upon :)

I love Hungarian music :) such joy, such expression, simply outstanding :)

  • Mel Brooks used this melody for "Hope for the Best, Expect The Worst" from the Twelve Chairs.

  • Comment removed

  • ( 2:59 - false note? or was it written that way??)

  • @UpSky2 i think it was the players false

  • My brother gave me a collection of Brahm's music to listen to. This was in it. I fell in love with it immediately. Thanks for posting this fine performance.

  • como siempre las danzas con mucho sentimiento..

  • gorgeous melody...i'm in love!

  • @haranghy It says in the caption that it was directed by Vittorio Cecchetto. If I'm not mistaken. Liszt would be almost 200 years old if he was alive today, so I don't think that's him.

  • this is beautiful

    S Támogatom a klasszikus zenéket.

    Köszönjük: Zenekedvelők.

  • simplemente SUBLIME

  • This sounds like The Song of the Count from Sesame Street.

  • It does.

  • Makes me proud to be a Hungarian....Isten óvja a magyarokat!!!! :)

  • @djturbo88 Úgy legyen!

  • Modern day Franz Liszt as the conductor? :)

  • It is my favorite Brahms Hungarian Dance but this performance is second rate. The tempo is too slow and the playing is amateurish. There is an audio recording that can be found on multiple labels that is far superior. It can be found on Amazon. The timing is 5:04. It is the only performance I have ever heard that plays it with real passion.

  • @cstamitz My favourite is No. 5. Not that anyone cares:D

  • @cstamitz If I am not mistaken, Brahms wrote it in slow tempo. I find this an excellent performance, it gives a deeper impression on the soul!

  • God Bless Üröm !

  • Ez is brillináns!

  • omg!!!!!!! i will never b able to play this song!!!!! my self confidence went from a 8.5 to a 1

  • God bless you Hungary

  • amazing sound for their size!

  • What an amazing Piece. Brilliant, exquisite. its in my ears, my brain, my body my soul. it is medicine for the unwell

  • some day I'll be playing like that on my Viola...

  • the conductor looks like liszt, cool

  • @xlegiofalco he isn't just look like Liszt, its himself, Liszt

  • a very small orchestra but a very good one

  • Yet another fantastic work by J. Brahms. His fascinating work is really great!! One of my favourite dances !! 5 stars!!

  • omg i rly dont like the orchestra sound of the midle part.

i prefere the piao 4hands version.

  • instead of pitching a fit that you dont like how they sound, maybe you could instead tell us why if youre such master of controlling the subtle sounds of an orchestra? also you cant judge sound quality of an orchestra if you arnt present in the hall. you have no idea what the acoustics of the hall are like where the mics are in the hall.

  • Today, a rainy day in Costa Rica, this music makes me feel grateful to be able to see and listen. Too beautiful rain and music together. Thank you for post it.

  • Fantastic

  • Unbelievable that Brahms Hungarian dances onto how much the Hungarian feeling is conveyed. The fate of a folk like that, which had siblings never, who may have counted on others never,,. But the calamities of the history, much big one depend on his foot proudly today as opposed to a man's prophecy vainly, on Europe's middle... others manage to understand, Hungarians on the road of the music possibly...

  • Hihetetlen hogy Brahms magyar táncai mennyire átadják a magyar életérzést. Egy oylan nép sorsát, amelynek sose voltak testvérei, aki sose számíthatott másokra. De hiába a történelem sorscsapásai, sok nagy ember jóslatával ellentétben ma is büszkén áll a lábán, Európa közepén... talán a zene útján másoknak is sikerül megérteni minket, magyarokat....

  • Brahms jól fogta meg: benne a szívfájdalom miatti búbánatos mulatás, benne a féktelen jókedvből fakadó vidám tánc, a bolondozás...minden szépség és bánat....

  • I think this piece is one of the best of Brahms, and the director is just great!!

  • my school is playing this 4 festival

  • this dance touches the heart so deep and so softly. just great!

  • Very underrated song IMO

  • Most people have heard Hungarian Dance No 5, and maybe No 1. But this one is my favorite!

  • a szalagtűzés zenéje....mmmmmm.....

    i really love it.....

  • One cannot be critical of this masterpiece other than to say just how wonderful any performance of this masterful work is. True Genius!

  • peace

  • Oh, I love it!

  • i think both

  • something sounded out of tune... or did it need another layer

  • i dont think it works as an orchestral arrangement.. muchhh more suited to a solo instrument such as the violin or piano.

  • I played it with an accordion and it sounds great.

  • i get thumbs down for my own opinion? how pathetic.

some seriously narrow minded people in this world...

  • haha. no I'm not, actually.

    you can shut up now.

  • erm no. if you looked I'm actually 18.

And i'm not sure what it is that makes me retarded or the age of 13. Surely freedom of speech isn't one of them.

I've already had an argument with an american this week and put them back in their place. i really can't be bothered to do it again.

  • if u listen to any contemporary hungarian music on the violin you will hear hauntingly similar melodies with those of the hungarian dances. and i can assure you these melodies date back much longer than brahms. and this is not intended as a putdown or any kind of disapproval towards brahms.

  • when i first went to hungary i, also, was in the knowledge that it was all brahms. you say we should not take away brahm's input. you are right. then again we should give hungarians their due as well. which is nothing less than recognising their folcloric input which was well used by brahms.

  • Bhrams is much more Hungarian from the folcloric point of view than for ex. Liszt.

But I think the music of Liszt is way more Hungarian when it comes to the "feeling".

  • yeah i agree with that.

  • get ur facts right. all the melodies come from the corpus of hungarian folk songs. i should know i had studied music in hungary.brahm WAS touring hungary to get hold of those tunes which then served as basis of those dances. why the hell do u think they are called hungarian dances? i did not speak badly of him. i recognise him to be one of the greatest composers. but in this case you are wrong.

  • how could he write it? he did not write the hungarian dances. he toured hungary and put down all the folk tunes. that was the basis. then he created music for orchestra.

  • Original version better (for violin and Piano). Is it in F#-Dur.

  • F#moll.

  • Wonderful ...

    I love it :D

  • i love it! it makes me cry and remember my favorite teacher...:)

  • tokeletes

  • Made me cry.

  • Legnagyobb

  • this hungarian dance has some sadness in some of it's parts ,this mystro is realy good because hi is expressing the symphonie in a perfect way

  • imádom . just love it ... amazing. no words for it .

  • I'd say this is the darkest/saddest of the hungarian dances (although I have not heard all of them, so correct me if I'm wrong).

  • coooool......

  • Wonderful!!

  • really nice!! i love it! xxx

  • Bravo!!

  • Terrific song by Brahms. Not as famous as No 5, but I think this one is the best.

  • very excellant!

That'd be great if I could play it with an orchestra :D

  • i must say that i love the vibrato going on.

i'm still working on mine because it is kind of weak right now. i'll be at this level soon. i promise.

i've been in orchestra for two years now and i'm now at an advance level so i'll get there soon.

    :)

  • They sound sooo nice together, I think they had to work reeeeally hard. I appreciate that you posted this video!

  • beautiful!

  • Wow cool
