@babybrian9191, Continuing -The operator does not perform any actual milking but only supervises the system, taking care to bring groups of cows at adequate intervals.

@babybrian9191, Like VMS, the teats are prepared and cleaned before the cups are put on via a short cycle of warm water and compressed air – all under vacuum in a dedicated prep cup. Teats are then dried. This stimulates milk let down just before the cups are attached. In an AMR system with 4 robot arms, the first 2 are dedicated to teat prep, the next 2 attach cups. Just before cows exit the platform, a teat spray arm sanitizes the teats after cup removal.
Impressive but 90cows/hour is very slow compared to around 300/hour with a 50unit rotary with 1 operator. How many cows would an ordinary robotic milking machine handle?
@babybrian9191 You say with 1 operator i'm intrigues to the milking routine, is there any pre dip /wipe or any preperation or are the units just plugged regardless of cleanliness of the udder ? and post treatment ?
@Hurlimaan hello, my name is Antonella and I am moderator of this channel.. Thanks for you question. The system is an automatic milking solution large herds. It can work in different farming practices, from free stalls and loose housing to pasture based dairying. Whether it could also be used by "older milking places" would have to first be evaluated. DeLaval evaluates each installtion independently.
@BeatzStudio Hello! Thanks for your question. In general cows accept robots better than some milkers due to consistent operation. Robots have no negative effect on the cows and are perceived as more reliable and understood by the cows. New, young or nervous cows feel comfortable being close to other cows in the HBR milking system.
this is a great idea, just worried about the starting and stopping of the milk platform, this seems like to me could be a problem with new cows and the life of the motors and gearboxes that drive the platform?
@thornguy2 Hi there! I am a moderator of this channel for DeLaval. Thanks for your comment! I will forward it to our product specialists. For more info visit our site and AMR page. Best, Antonella
@thornguy2 Hi there, In traditional rotary milking there are frequent starts and stops, but of course not between every cow. Testing shows that it works at 90 cows/hr.
As far as the lifetime of the system goes...because these kinds of systems are required to work almost round the clock, it will be mandatory to implement a preventive maintenance program. We expect these systems, like the VMS, to last 12 to 15 years depending on how well the system is maintained.
Are those robots fast enough to dodge a kicker?

So this is what happens to cows when they get abducted by a UFO!

@babybrian9191
A regular robot can milk 60 head daily, at 2.5 times per day i think.
