  • If only there songs stayed this good

  • hahaha dude what an absolute genius

  • what venue? cool

  • Did he just liken Germany to hell?

  • F@CK i really MISS the OLD SILVERCHAIR!!!!

  • @TheBilliejoe70 yuuuuuuuuup

  • muito loko!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, what he said at the start really rubbed me the wrong way.

This is our big hit, check it!

  • @dano555666 he was being facetious

  • in 1997, I was 7 years old D:. 90s music always have had the best music.

  • @jane19gig in 1997, I was 6 years old xDDD 90's forever

  • @jane19gig You know you're right (8) haha :)

  • @jane19gig me too :D

  • damnt, daniel jhon seems like a 10 years old. he looks too much young......... I got the same age. now he's so diffrent........

  • I love this song.

  • this song has not been played live since 1999 ... wtf!

  • is that Ben behind the kit?

    he looks so diffferent! lol!

  • they were 12 when they wrote this song and put it on frogstomp age 14/15

  • Too bad they never played this live much past this era. They would have had to tune it down way too much for him to hit those high notes. Brilliant band though.

  • Yeah!!!! So pure and original rock and roll with feel. I still have this CD! From like when it came out. Just pure great songs to rattle the bones.

  • he was born in 1979 so hes 18 here

  • Comment removed

  • the 90s was the last decade of real music

  • He sounded a bit different in 97..his voice was changing with the age, in 99 he couldn't sing tomorrow anymore.

  • Could you try any harder to look like Kurt Cobain?....

  • @vanillasquirel He was 14. Im guessing you tried to look like th efolks u idolised at that age as well. I know i did. Very very talented young man!!!

  • This makes me sad. Young Modern is so new, diverse and complex. Young Modern is lyrically impressive and really demonstrates how gifted the Silverchair musicians are. Frogstomp is a hardrock CD, nothing more.

But I bet 90% of Silverchair fans will agree with me that Frogstomp literally stomps the fuck out of Young Modern.

  • Does anyone know if there are live videos of "Tomorrow" where he plays the solo similar to on the studio version?

  • if it aint broke why fix it. the grunge was their bread and butter. i think they did what just about every band from the 90's did which was they tried to change with the times when they didn't need to. if they would have realized that grunge was way ahead of its time already, so many bands wouldn't have fallen out of the grunge genre, for ex, creed, fuel, pearl jam, or bush. fuel broke up but the others lost their grungey touch. they all need to go back to the essence that made them famous

  • this is werid ,he says they said nothing like nirvana and they dont sound grunge but they say ''qoute'' this our number 1 world wide grunge song.......?

  • did he say the water in germany is very hard to drink..? ahahahaha

  • @sprouseisthebest yeah there in germany

  • @sprouseisthebest Probably because bottled water in Germany is usually carbonated. That, or he was just being silly.

  • Did he say shlong? Or was it just me?

  • frogstomp made when all the members are 15, it was 1995. and this video was 1997, it means they are 17. sick

  • crappy

  • chris looks so wore out in this video, hes probably played this song like 100,000 times by now and prolly like fuck it, yeah we know tomorrow, haha

  • omg they're so young! They would've been like 18 there...

Although I do think that Frogstomp (or Freakshow) is nowhere near their best album. Sure, the grunge is cool and stuff (don't get me wrong, I love the heavy stuff), but their newer material is so much more interesting and dynamic; it really shows how musically intelligent they are, rather than just being a bunch of grunge riffs.

  • his hair looks like the singer from mudhoney(i forget his name) or a blonde version of the male singer from sonic youth(again bad with names)

  • Mark Arm and Thurston Moore

  • Yeah...Your on the internet machine captain anti-technology, wiki these things before commenting!

  • he looks 16 but hes pretty good never saw them live brfore and didnt know there was only 3 of them

  • how old are they here?

  • this is just nothing but corporate music made by a bunch of biters.

  • @Exile168 :

    You really know nothing.

    Congratulations.

  • he looks more like old Billy Corgan than Kurt.

  • atleast its better than their new shit

  • He always alters this song like, "you think you can keep on going, living like a mexican walking fish" and "the water in Germany is very hard to drink" *sigh* if only I was older back in 95 I could have experienced this.

  • LMAO@ Mexican walking fish. You are right, though. He still jammed the fuck out!

  • pff nirvana sussesor?

daniel is better than this motherfucker kubein

  • Nirvana's successor!!!!

  • Kurt wouldnt have wrote anything so mainstream

  • You do know that they were about 14 when they wrote this album and regardless of what you consider "mainstream" this song and Frogstomp album are excellent. Earlier live versions are heavier and raw, amazing for their age and vocal quality is one of a kind.

  • @JGyurik thats dispite the fact that about 4 of the songs were complete rip offs of 80's hard rock songs, i guess it was alright.

  • @mrvegas9898 douche

  • @JGyurik Agreed!! Amazing talent for their age. Fuck, when i was that age I was an awkward little dorky teen... So to have such talent & success, and be able to rock out in front of a crowd like that, is amazing. Just a shame to see what the 'Chair progressed to... I think I'll shoot someone the next time I hear "Straight Lines" on the radio. But in saying that, they couldn't have stuck to the grunge sound forever, 'cause that would be just as lame. Anyway, RIP Silverchair.

  • he looks alot like u know who in this gig!

  • he had such a deep voice as a kid...i thought silverchair sucked until i heard this song!

  • lol soon after this show they never played tomorrow in Australia cos they thought it sounded kinda gay and sucked, He wrote it at 12, deep voice ? listen to him talk hehe na I know what ya mean but come on a guys voice has broken by then right ? lol their first 4 albums are great but the last is just gay and too poppy ! too many drugs and too much Paul mack I think.

  • it's not because they thought it "sounded gay", they just thought it didn't fit their current music direction.

  • Yeah I use the word gay a bit loosely sometimes, I meant they just didn't like it anymore, sick of hearing it and maybe a bit simple, great concept for when they wrote it at 12/13 though

  • well, it's like when you're a kid you have a teenage band where you're just fooling around and trying to find your own sound. silverchair just felt that frogstomp was their teenage band, it just happened that they had a worldwide hit.

  • I was talking about tomorrow, not their other frogstomp songs, they still play some of those live (thank goodness) but stopped playing "tomorrow" live quite early on..

  • i know, but that's how they felt towards the whole album.... tomorrow was just the most overplayed and well known of the bunch, so it got outed,

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like Kurt Cobain.

    Sounds like Eddie Vedder.

Plays guitar like Layne Staley. (watch AIC unplugged)

  • jerk...

  • watch the full AIC Unplugged. Layne did play guitar.

  • @Exile168 Actually Layne did, in Mad Season of course.

  • WOAH, BEN GILLIES' MOHAWK

  • the world wide grunge hit

    hahaha

  • yeah he was taking the piss when he said world wide grunge hit but obviously some people just thought he was just bragging

  • shut the fuck up

  • Love this song. One of the better post-grunge hits. Wish Silverchair hadn't turned pop-ish.

  • its always unreal, they look like nirvana but sound more like

    pearl jam/ alice in chains?

i miss their old grunge stuff, you know!

  • this band still power dude`s

  • they really sounds more like pearl jam.

Maybe it is because of his blond hair why they always compared him with kurt cobain.

  • they sound more like every other post-grunge band, lol. they all sound like a mix of pearl jam and nirvana. this is an awesome song though. plus, he DOES look like a kurt rip off here.

  • sounds heavily influenced by pearl jam rather than nirvana. why the hell is everyone saying nirvana?

  • cos of the teenage angst rifs on frogstomp and freakshow eg "lie to me" "learn to hate" etc (those 2 sound just like Nirvana and he obviously looked more like Kurt. Also they said silverchair came from "sliver" a Nirvana song ie they said they wrote the I and L the wrong way around which turned out to be a joke as they actually just got the name from a book.

  • haha, 0:53 "the water in Germany is very hard to drink"

  • lol. gotta love daniel johns.

  • gosh hey kurt ROFL

  • yeah - paul mac ruined silverchair bc he turned daniel johns into a homo, i never said bands should have the same sound forever, don't misinterpret my comments punk4sho

  • amen dude... paul mac was the death of silverchair

  • i love silverchair.

but this song sounds like the beginning of "more than a feeling" by boston..

  • this band got lost along the way

  • All y'all who criticize Silverchair for jockin' Nirvana are 'tards. I guess you would criticize every band influenced by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Hank Williams Sr., & Elvis Presley too. Fools

  • he was 15 years old when they made this song

  • silverchair was cool until their 3rd album .... frogstomp is godlike dont blame daniel .......blame society money power and damaging childhood but dont blame the man he was taken by the darkness and hurt beyond repair

  • silverchair was awesome, until paul mac came into this world. what a fag, thanks for ruining the greatest band of life

  • ruining? bullshit, every band that sticks to one sound for their whole career SUCKS.

  • nirvana rocks, silverchair is awesome too. cool song.

  • Silverchair built off of nirvana and improved upon their sound if you ask me.

  • daniel johns its a genius

its really a shame the fact that he has sold his ass to tha fucking mainstream

    still love silverchair

  • i luv this band stip the nirvana comparation man silverchair has its own style u just say it cuz they played grunge at theyr begginins and daniel was blonde with long hair get over it

  • What the hell did he say at the beginning? i couldn't understand it

  • i think he says forget about it the starts all fucked

  • "this is our worldwide number 1 grunge hit, i forget how it starts though".

  • Grunge, Post Grunge, Punk, not Punk, Nirvana Selling Out??? I can't believe people actually say shit like this. you all have too much time on your hands and it shows how pathetic you are when you make these brainless comments. Go out and do something with your life. All of these artists mentioned are on a completely different level then all of you and you don't have the credibility to be saying any of this shit.

  • ¸„ø¤º°¨°º¤ø„¸¨°º¤ø„

    ¨°º¤ø„ ¸Nirvana Rocks¨°º¤ø„¸

    ¸„ø¤º°¨¸„ø¤º „¸¨°º¤ø„¸¸„ø¤ YEEAAAHHH!!!!!

  • hes making his own hit song, so kurt cobain. good song though.

  • aaaw the drummer went bald :(

  • he's just shaved here :) he has a lot of hair even now when he's almost thirty

  • really?

silverchair loox like they wanna b nirvana...

daniel has hair long n blonde n the bassist WAS bald in one video clip i saw and i saw em live on utube and the drummer had hair like dave grohl...

  • oh, is there any chance you could choose your hair colour when you're born? he's blond by nature and long hair or rather nonconformity is something rock music was about, among other things

believe me, at that point they were totally sick of hearing they wanted to be like Nirvana cause they didnť, so I strongly doubt they were trying to look like them, in fact, they cut their hair not to look like them

  • oh k

well i just thort they were big fans cuz ther music's sort of nirvanas type

and each band member looked each band member from nirvana and played the same instruments as the band member they looked like

  • nirvana were certainly one of their influences but they were really far from being just nirvana wannabes

  • awsome song.

an asi daniel vendio su culo

screming trees no era grunge verdad pq no distorcionaba guitarras

  • buena

  • yeah he looks like kurt

  • he doesn't look like kurt other than his hair

  • buena cancion yeah

  • He screws up at 4:00 min on his cording the guitar! lol

  • His voice is what makes the band, its awesome!

  • so young kool

  • bad ASS!!!

  • ROFL @ Daniel changing some of the lyrics.

  • i miss this stuff. now its all this straight lines bulshit.

  • i like creativity... but the drugs .. is bad

  • love them. and this song. <3

  • good performance actually, dunno bout the solo tho..BAH

  • hes gay

  • they used to be so good....wot the fuck happend lol

  • nothing happened. they are still fuckin mad.

  • nah they used to be better

  • Except that they're Austrailian, not American...

  • They are Australian :)

  • wtf are u talking about there austrailian u fucking idiot dont insult us aussies

  • Grunge won't ever die. Probably the best rock subgenre there ever will be. My personal favorite music overall too.

  • these guys arent grunge there post grunge and grunge is dead there are no more grunge bands around anymore.xD

  • wish there were some grunge bands

    o well

maybe grunge will be alive again soon

or an other genre thats cool

  • check out early Grinspoon, another good Australian grunge band, but not anymore

  • when did they stop playing this song? after neon ballroom or later?

  • the last time they played tomorrow was early on in the neon ballroom tour but that havent played it since, according to the Silverchair documentary about Diorama on SBS like a year ago.

    Peace Nigga

  • Grunge is more than music, is a style of life.....Grunge is not deAd...GrunGe music bring up for severals types of generes with the only especific mision...make rares sonds with exploted lyrics while Post grunge is less than Grunge. Post-grunge are bands before the boom in Seattle....these bands are indentificated for theirs slower sonds and they forget to mix sounds like Punk, heavy country,Indi and sounds sonthing like these......

  • can someone tell me

    what's post grunge ???

    what's the differents

    can someone explain

without blackmail me : ) thanks

  • grunge was an underground music sence in seattle and when nirvana soundgarden and alice in chains made it big it mad a new main stream music style. silverchair puddle of mudd bush etc were came about when grunge made it big. they were inspired off the "real" grunge bands. makin them post grunge as in new grunge.

  • thnks

  • they were so better back then

  • U just think theyre grunge cus he looks like kurt cobain and play some open chords, even though that has nothing to do with it.

  • and Fyi. grunge is NOT just a sound.

  • This performance kicks ass. I love the energy in the crowd when they are jumping in unison. Very nice.

  • "living like a shlong" haha...male reproductive organs.

  • what an idiot... "this is a #1 grunge billboard hit"... i like the song but wtf? stupid trendy ass

  • Someone's sarcasm radar needs a little tune up, I'm afraid :)

    He's just joking.

If you listen closely you can hear he then says : "I forgot how it starts but..."

Doesn't seem very boastful to me.

  • he said this is "OUR" #1 grunge hit

  • Good song, but Johns always fucks up his solos!

  • there isnt any similarity, silverchair songs are more melodical

  • this is so good!

best silverchair song ever (in MY opinion)

could have been a good BUSH song, too...

    Grunge will never die

  • its dead

  • not in my mind :-)

  • he tries to hard to look like cobain, ya the bands are way different though

  • I do not see and have never seen any similarity between nirvana and silverchair so shut the fuck up...

  • you are an idiot.

  • he doesn't try to look like cobain. wtf? he cant help his natural born facial feature. He got his hair cut and dyed it red. wtf do you want from him. Oh yeah and he wears t-shirts and khakis. wow yeah hes really trying

  • also an idiot. (btw kurt died his hair red too in the beginning, more evidence)

  • ...he never TRIED to look like him...just because they played similar music and he was blonde they just pinned that on him.

  • nice version of tomorrow ^^

  • Daniel looks like Ben's and Chris' younger brother in this vid even though he's actually older than them.

  • GRUNGE IS NOT DEAD!!

  • Silverchair is NOT grunge. i've never seen a "grunge" band playin a fucking 2 thousand dollar guitar (he's got a PRS custom with birds). mudhoney and bands like that play cheap ass guitars cos they're broke. which this band clearly arent . ergo. not grunge.
