This makes me sad. Young Modern is so new, diverse and complex. Young Modern is lyrically impressive and really demonstrates how gifted the Silverchair musicians are. Frogstomp is a hardrock CD, nothing more.

if it aint broke why fix it. the grunge was their bread and butter. i think they did what just about every band from the 90's did which was they tried to change with the times when they didn't need to. if they would have realized that grunge was way ahead of its time already, so many bands wouldn't have fallen out of the grunge genre, for ex, creed, fuel, pearl jam, or bush. fuel broke up but the others lost their grungey touch. they all need to go back to the essence that made them famous

Although I do think that Frogstomp (or Freakshow) is nowhere near their best album. Sure, the grunge is cool and stuff (don't get me wrong, I love the heavy stuff), but their newer material is so much more interesting and dynamic; it really shows how musically intelligent they are, rather than just being a bunch of grunge riffs.
He always alters this song like, "you think you can keep on going, living like a mexican walking fish" and "the water in Germany is very hard to drink" *sigh* if only I was older back in 95 I could have experienced this.
You do know that they were about 14 when they wrote this album and regardless of what you consider "mainstream" this song and Frogstomp album are excellent. Earlier live versions are heavier and raw, amazing for their age and vocal quality is one of a kind.

the last time they played tomorrow was early on in the neon ballroom tour but that havent played it since, according to the Silverchair documentary about Diorama on SBS like a year ago.

Grunge is more than music, is a style of life.....Grunge is not deAd...GrunGe music bring up for severals types of generes with the only especific mision...make rares sonds with exploted lyrics while Post grunge is less than Grunge. Post-grunge are bands before the boom in Seattle....these bands are indentificated for theirs slower sonds and they forget to mix sounds like Punk,heavy country,Indi and sounds sonthing like these......

grunge was an underground music sence in seattle and when nirvana soundgarden and alice in chains made it big it mad a new main stream music style. silverchair puddle of mudd bush etc were came about when grunge made it big. they were inspired off the "real" grunge bands. makin them post grunge as in new grunge.

Silverchair is NOT grunge. i've never seen a "grunge" band playin a fucking 2 thousand dollar guitar (he's got a PRS custom with birds). mudhoney and bands like that play cheap ass guitars cos they're broke. which this band clearly arent . ergo. not grunge.
