  • Genre pushing?

  • cornell can kiss my ass if he thinks he is bigger than soundgarden

  • fuc audioslave soundgarden ruled

  • @TheEastside4eva get your head out of your ass! They both rule because of Chris Cornell!

  • @krondor01 my uncle put that shit. so dont get mad at me

  • it did happen:)

  • integrity

  • hey chris i just blew the wheels off ebay and paypal with a nigger wire want me to fix your guitars? chris i'll let you put any of your soundgarden crap on beyondinlovedness and if you want anything off inlovedness channel on MyTube its free. I don't kno wtf your lined out on but im suckin pure vaccuum for cash. Dude I just got judged out by jackson county when the county tried to put their nut farm between my ears so fuck you think that old soundgarden shit is gonna keep up with Jaynes Jangle

  • Went to the show at the Forum last night. It was AMAZING! :D

  • I agree. Chris will never be able to pull off Jesus Christ Pose, The day I tried to live, or Beyond the Wheel. Those days are behind him.

  • @98gug Hey you need to type Soundgarden Beyond the Wheel 2010 and maybe revise that comment. Just sayin.

  • @98gug i just some them live 2 days ago..and his voice was litterly better than ever..its like a muscle for him i guess..he was taunting us with how high he can go..

  • Chris Cornell with long hair = Homeless Mexican

  • Superunknown was the best record of the 90's. Period...

  • @dockaiser I agree .. and Don't Forget metallica's Black Album ...

  • @mydemise666 Everyone needs to get of Metallica's nuts they sold out and very clearly have showed that they are only about Money and not the music,

  • He's still gorgeous!!!

  • hahhaha i'm going to see them tomorrow

  • they are all amazing albums in their own way but my fav is badmotorfinger.

  • he is SOOOOOOOO SEXY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • surprise to hear he thinks down on the upside is the best album

  • they are touring agaaain! i am goin to see them july 3rd!!

  • down on the upside isn't a bad album but it is nowhere near as good as badmotorfinger or superunknown. As for being the most cohesive? I disagree, that album is all over the place.

  • Oh come on Chris, you won't mess anything up. Whatever you do artistically today won't have any effect on what you did back then.

  • this band to old for this young chick ,,what the f ,,can she drink or know what bands like this one from what f man ,,,

  • Chris and Ty Pennington were separated at birth

  • this video is dead

  • Well Said Chris!

  • 2007 was such a naive year.

  • @happyguy215 I absolutely love Soundgarden, but I agree. I would rather see Audioslave together instead.

  • AudioSlave sound like an old mans arse. SoundGarden or nothing, Chris! You have about one year before your voice is completely shitted. Get it done, Chris!

  • @daverlb Nah man. If anything, his voice is getting better. He now sings in a way that is much less damaging to his voice. He's got years ahead of him. But then again. It's all about what you define as shit.

  • @Meta1Head91 I wish I could agree bro but I'm pretty unimpressed by his most recent appearances. I reckon hes lost the range he had because he clearly struggles in the higher register. There is no way he could pull out a Jesus Christ Pose now, no way, unless they dropped their tuning again, but I'm pretty sure they tune a half step lower in everything as is. Just my opinion and I will be a SG fan forever but I really struggled with Audioslave, despite liking RATM too.

  • @daverlb Same here. He has some oops moments The Black Rain on Conan was quite impressive. He hits those notes damn well. His voice has improved from his audioslave days by not drinking so much and giving up smoking. He will never return to that young 1992 badmotorfinger Chris Cornell that we all know and love. What I was trying to state in that last post is that he's gotten better(than what he was with audioslave not in his entire career). In my opinion of course.

  • @Meta1Head91 Oh yeah, I hear what you're saying mate. I'm really hoping the reformed SG get down to NZ but I won't hold my breath. He could sound like a bag of cats and I would still buy a ticket.

  • @daverlb Hell yeah. Chris could vomit all over the microphone and I would be glad I bought a ticket. If not for Chris, the rest of SG would still kick ass. Matt, Kim and Ben will still hold up a decent show. Their skills are as badass as ever. Sucks living in NZ though. Our music scene is pretty dead.

  • @Meta1Head91 Oh I don't know, I've seen Crooked Vultures, Melvins and QOTSA already this year and I couldn't make it to BDO. I'mhappy with that. You do keep hearing of mean bands that stop in Oz though. Helmet tour there almost every year but they haven't been here for about 8 years.

  • i knew they were reforming before ArtisanNewsService did! :)

  • so, didnt they get back together? wasn't that happening? I am outta the loop these days....

  • He used to be something, now with or without hair he is the biggest douche outhere. Fucking asshole.

  • Chris needs to return to his roots and stay away the the pop music garbage.

  • SOUNDGARDEN > Audioslave

  • @10xproduction true but audioslave is a good substitute

  • what was the last song in this video called?

  • @shh90 fell on black days

  • He should grow his hair out again

He just looks like a douche with short hair

  • @manrayer88 yeah, because being over 40 and having long hair doesn't make you look like a douche

  • @manrayer88 He's gorgeous with hair or without!!

  • 3:24 Kim Thayil is calling!!!

  • audioslave were a pile of shit

  • @MrHydrogoon Eat it! Audioslave were amazing. Obviously, you don't like the kind of music Audioslave played cause if you did you would definitely like them!

  • @Audioslave3 I do like Audioslave's music but I don't like what Cornell has been doing recently.

  • audioslave sucked ass.... soundgarden beats the ever lasting shit out of audioslave

  • Jesus stfu bitch. I came to hear what Chris Cornell had say not your stupid fucking narration.

  • reform audioslave, it can happen someday

  • @happyguy215 Hell yes, Soundgarden is good but nothing can beat Cornell paired with Morello. Audioslave was epic

  • @happyguy215 DITTO !

  • @happyguy215 audioslave me bollox

  • @happyguy215 to late, soundgarden are back

  • @happyguy215 rather soundgarden

  • soundgarden are back???????

  • now their back

  • It's refreshing to hear a musician take his music so seriously and put what the music really means above how it can be financially exploited.

  • Where were they During G20!!!Hah!!!!!!!

  • at 3:05 how did that lady not mention led zeppelin???

  • @ColdAsIce3211

    Because John's dead dummy.

  • @minimizzelstat His spirit lives on

  • Chris had just discgraced himself with his second solo album, and then, Soundgarden are back together, and his dignity has been restored, :D

  • his name is chris so you know he's superior

  • Boy was he wrong!

  • I like watching this video, reminds me of how I couldn't wait for Jan 1st 2010

  • Knowing nothing about the details that caused the split, I would wager Kim wanted to return to the raw, heavy club sound that won them rock and metal fans while Chris wanted to move towards a more commercial product to be mass marketed to the general music lover.

In other words, I wager Kim wanted to make real music, Chris wanted to make barbi rock.

  • @JonDeth I agree with all you said until you mentioned "barbi" rock. Chris Cornells music is different from what Soundgarden made, but it's far from mainstream rock/pop. I hope you caught them on Conan last night, they were tight and right!!!

  • @vicmal2112 everything on the radio and TV is pop at this point. You think Linkin Park is metal? Ozzy Osbourne? It's just a form of pop music. This is true of everything we have stuffed down our throats by the corporate establishment. They create a menu knowing most people don't seek a free, open market of music which means exploring the local live scene.

So they're brainwashed by the spoon feeders.

Cornell's solo album was purely digital, how is that not mainstream?

    It was bordering on hiphop

  • Chris is pretty conceited, however he does crank out some crunchy tunes man.

  • Chris Cornell is easily the best to come out of Seattle!Shit he's the best of this generation,

  • matt and ben simply rule. soundgarden was fantastic.

  • I rank Alice in Chains about Soundgarden for that time. I'm a fan of both however.

  • He looks like a douche, and kinda sounds like one too( heard him in other interviews...) too bad his voice is so good...

  • NOOOOO F5 ISNT HELPING SKIP THE ADS!!! :(

  • Blowjob of a human.Great voice..shitty person.Made the best albums?Alice in Chains motherfucker!!Smoked your shitty ass!

  • @Ranstem All bullshit except for the great voice thing.

  • I have great appreciation for Cornell simply because of the fact that the man rocks like a motherfucker, yet does not dabble in heavy drugs.

  • Sorry it's about both, Feel the rhythm with your hands Steal the rhythm while you can, Spoonman Speak the rhythm on your own Speak the rhythm all alone, Spoonman Spoonman, come together with your hands Save me, I'm together with your plan Save me All my friends are Indians All my friends are brown and red, Spoonman All my friends are skeletons They beat the rhythm with their bones, Spoonman
  • But now to think of it it's more Like Dave Grohl's accent or Krist's cause his voice is deeper than Kurt Cobain's....

  • lol he has the same Seattle drawl at the end of his words as kurt Cobain....SO AWESOME!!!!!!

  • Why is everyone saying that Spoonman is about heroin - it's about a spoon player that Chris once saw performing in a hotel and he remembered him as he was writing Superunknown and decided to get in contact and make a song based on him. It's just a jokey song - its about some one who plays the spoons ... If anyone had done a tiny bit of research they could have found that out easily enough.

  • "Genesis, Madonna, and Linkin Park..."

One of these things is not like the other things... one of these things doesn't belong...

  • TOO BAD THEY ARE BACK TOGETHER NOW mwhahahaha

  • The thing about good songs is that its up to the listener to decide what the songs mean to them. If you think Spoonman is about heroin then its about heroin. I like to think its about a superhero that uses his spoon playing abilities to annoy supervillians into giving up. But that's just for me.

  • @jacklegg21 Couldnt agree more man!!! :D Just like poetry. Kurt Cobain said he didnt completely understand his lyrics or even comprehend them whatsoever, and not because he was a high idiot, but because he's like a poet and leaves the music to who its meant for(us who LOOOVE it). that's the biggest difference in this type of music(grunge and real rock) as opposed to pop and rap and all that bs that is so damn straightforward and flashy on the outside. You know?.....XD anyways great comment bro

  • this guy is dartacan

  • i dont give a fuck what these naegras and heelbillies do in their freetime

  • VEVO SUCKS!

  • do you knoe the real soundgarden??? hell the fuck no they started out as a hip hop band in the late 80's cause chris cornell grew up in compton, he was in the crips for a while but he decided he wanted to get away from the G life so he then formed soundgarden and made 2 of the best grunge albums my favorites superunknown, and badmotorfinger, it's the truth people trust me.!

  • @Camaromandave98 I just listened to one of their first albums they are not hip hop

  • @drinkyourtea Please tell me your not being serious, it's plain to see that was all sarcasm.......

  • @drinkyourtea they used to be, it's a damn fact.

  • @drinkyourtea

    What idiot said they were???

  • @drinkyourtea no shit

  • @Camaromandave98 Cornells first band was called the shemps and it was in the early 80's, and yes it was labeled pop simply because it was the 80's and "Grunge" wasn't in existance yet. And not trying to pick a fight here, but he was actually born and raised in Seattle Washington in '64...not quite compton.

  • "it usually ends up being money that motivates people in... getting back together"... so.... i guess soundgarden reunion 2010 happened because of the money? lol im sure it wasnt ONLY that!! who cares tho, chris cornell is so good he is allowed to contradict himself. soundgarden rules!!!!!!!

  • @refae88 It's a sure thing, & they know it damn well: They'd've made a -lot- more money by simply staying together in the 1st place, so just "money" isn't the reason..perhaps "need for money". A crucial difference: The 1st is greed, the 2nd survival.

  • @kencoa if you truly believe that then you have no real taste was Mudhoney very important to the grunge movement, yes. In comparison to bands like Soundgarden and Nirvana that were also based out of Seattle, no. Do they deserve more recognition for what they accomplished, yes but don't go putting them onto a pedastal if you're going to be so closed of to music as a whole.

  • @BradleySWells what are some of Mudhoney's great songs? Quote me some great Mudhoney lyrics. They sucked.

  • @trulysarcastic Well, Touch Me I'm Sick was there only song that got any popularity...but as for them sucking, not really the only difference between any of the bands that started in the Seattle scene was the depth in lyric quality. No, their songs aren't rememberable but they did play a part in the grunge movement never the less.

  • @kencoa Dude, along with Nirvana and AIC, Soundgarden established Grunge and put Seattle on the map!

  • Big fat Liar u are Chris .

  • "i dont think its something that will happen"

3 years after this video, they get back together :)

  • He said they're probably not gonna be back. Well they are now.

  • "the most daring and experimental" ABSOLUTELY!

  • I love soundgarden and chris cornell but in this interview he sounds like and asshole.

  • I wish nirvana was back.

  • this man have the voice of GOD!!!!

  • PLSSSSSS get back together! or at least get Audioslave back =\

  • @lyfecom They are back together since January! Wake up people!!!

  • @Audioslave3 They weren't officially back together! they were doing some shows & other B.S and were thinking of getting back together.

Now, if i can have my cake (S.G) and eat it too (Audioslave). I'll be the happiest person in the world.

  • @lyfecom Well, at first they weren't. But now they are after seeing the response of what Chris wrote on Twitter in January.

  • they are together now because of black rain im excited

  • They just needed a 15 years break...Once they saw how shit the music industry became, it was time to come back and make REAL music again.

  • @mgospeed31 more like, "oh shit, alice in chains are one step ahead of the curve again"

anyway, glad they're back together. Let's just pray that Thayil will carry the greater creative load, as Cornell is kind of soft. We need more sludge, and less kumbaya.

  • well they did get back together hell yea

  • WOW How things can change!!! Soundgarden is back baby!!!

  • 3 YEARS LATER...WE FINALLY GET IT. Hell yeah

  • well as cornell has proven in 2010 it's money after his shit solo career flopped.

  • @Alhambrattp True but i'll still go and see them!!!

  • @Alhambrattp Carry on was actually pretty cool. Scream was just weird.

  • I can see it now! This decade will be a 1990's ripoff which in turn was a 1970's ripoff! History does repeat itself!

  • Don't be "spoiled brats", let by-gones be by-gones . . .

  • Soundgarden rules!

  • The drummer for Pearl Jam is leaving Pearl Jam, so they're finally going to be back after 13 years. But don't worry, it'll probably be another year until they actually start doing something again, that is, if they don't break up.....again.

  • @paladin598 Ya Matt Cameron originally drummed for Soundgarden until they broke up, then he replaced PJ's drummer, news today it that if you pre-order the new Guitar Hero game you get Soundgarden's new album Telephantism with unreleased track Black Rain at the game's release. Look it up!

  • he say they didnt mess it up. i have to disagree.

  • Bout fucking time

  • All the Musicians are my Great Friends, I want to play with all of You to show my apreciation!!!

  • Just do it, Chris, and have fun. Don't over-think it.

  • you can inject it or snort it, but hat's not the point. Spoonman is about a street musician who plays spoons instead of a regular instrument. Check the lyrics, there's no reference to drugs, needles, withdrawal, etc.

  • @trulysarcastic are you daft?

  • @ThemTheyHeShe Have you reead the lyrics, listen to chris Cornell talk about the song or tried simply wikipedia about the song? I've done all three and they will tell you the same thing, it's about a street musician. If you don't beleive me, that's fine. The guy is in the video for the song is playing a rythm with a fist full of spoons

  • @trulysarcastic Songs usually have multiple meanings. The song is about both. Chris was doing heroin at the time. in a personal meaning he is talking about just that. but as a meaning for the band and a more acceptable meaning for the general public, it is about a street musician.

  • @AnAon5 I never heard or read he did heroin. I find that hard to believe since Andrew Wood died for a heroin overdose

  • @trulysarcastic Yeah, like Mr. Tambourine man. That was about a guy who played a tambourine every song he did. In the street. Solo. Oh, yeah, the "there's no reference to drugs" bit you say? How about, "Spoonman!" :"All my friends are skeletons". Sounds like a Hendrix, Morrison, Cobain, Staley tribute. Maybe also, the book bury my heart at wounded knee. "To Artis the spoonman." That's the official meaning. Either way, get some imagination. You might enjoy life better with it, than without it.

  • @1776bricks Chris Cornell has said that it has nothing to do with heroin, I'll take that instead of one line that you might think has to do with it. I have no imagination because I believe that guy who wrote song knows what his own song is about? fuck you prick

  • @trulysarcastic I guess I'm a prick because I don't believe everything I hear or read. You might watch FOX news, I'd rather watch the Daily Show.

  • @1776bricks look, you can beleieve what you want, I'm only saying what the writer of the song said. True, he could be lying, obviusly only Cornell knows for sure.Ironically I thought my original comment froma month ago was very simple and I've gotten more feedback on this song then all my comments combined since I've posted on youtube. Will have to agree to disagree.

  • @1776bricks Your ability to make reasonable arguments is missing.

  • @1776bricks Then your missguided, now stay on topic you Lib!

  • 17:There is a real Mr Tambourine Man: Bruce Langhorne, guitar (& tambourine) on early Dylan sessions. Dylan's, not accidentally, a notoriously ambiguous lyricist: He wrote a perfectly harmless song about a tambourine player. What'd we expect Bob to sing: "I know a guy who plays the tambourine / he's really good / I like his playing a lot" ? Obviously, he added mystery, poetry, imagery, & complexity, making it more interesting than simple, boring facts. No drugs, but it's ok to think so.

  • @trulysarcastic Have you read the lyrics? Are you suggesting that the Spoonman will save me? It's allegorical.

@ThemTheyHeShe You should look for answers in other places too, I think. You might be surprised at what you find.

  • I can't believe they're back together now after he said all that.

  • spoonman has nothing to do with heroin

  • @trulysarcastic finally someone that gets it! i friggn hate people that think its about shootin up

  • @trulysarcastic yeah it does. Heroin is done involving a spoon.

  • @jimihendrixtribute I thought you injected it

  • @CCRockit sorry for the late, late response, but heroin involves a spoon in the sense that you have to melt the pill in a spoon over a lighter or candle, and then you put it into a hypodermic needle to inject.

  • @trulysarcastic What idiot thought that ?

  • @trulysarcastic Awesome song! Tribute to the "spoon guy" in Seattle, i believe.

  • @trulysarcastic that's true.. it's amazing how often I see addicts trying to justify themselves by some lyrics a band writes. as if that means anything anyway.. the users who are musicians are in hell with their addictions.. look at layne staley as an example.. look at his words he wrote.. he was absolutely miserable and he died alone.. it doesnt have to be that way.. and it doesn't have to end that way :(

  • @trulysarcastic no doubt. It has to do with the chosen one being hooked on speed.

  • @trulysarcastic you're right. i actually met artis the spoonman (his name) at the univeristy of washington in seattle a few years ago. an amazing artist.

  • @trulysarcastic "all my friends are brown and red" is a reference to heroin, i'm pretty sure. hahaha

  • @annamalous really? Wow!

  • @trulysarcastic supposedly the guy playing spoons is a guy that played on the streets.

  • @trulysarcastic nothing at all to do with it lol

  • right, there is a street musician in seattle that plays spoons
