For hearing all three, I don't think I cantell much difference between 1 and 3&K's.

The most notable difference is the S in the Sonic 3 version is really odd sounding. It's also a bit lower quality.

Also, even though I've known this since forever, I've never paid any attention to it until now :D

It seems like Sonic 3&K has lower quality... maybe they saved enough space for levels and such to justify that.
