@Shtif182 i like the matrix and in fact i love it more than inception. however if it wasn't for the matrix, inception would still be made. i watched a featurette of inception where chris nolan is telling us how he created his idea. he merely liked the idea of dreaming and wanted to explore dreams in a bizarre way. the only thing i see similar to the matrix at all is the anti-gravity hallway scene. both movies are entirely original in the sense of story development. the matrix is the best though.

I think the movie The Matrix was revolutionary not only in the special effects, but also in the ideas it presented, that tie in with the postmodern worldview. The Matrix is representative of the world we live in, with borders, boundaries, and a world in which people are blinded by what goes on in their environment, but this environment is shielding us from the truth.
