I'd say this is the best AMV with Viva la Vida out of all the rest. The scenes always have a good relevance to the lyrics while playing. Not to mention the scenes tend to change with the rhythm nicely and there are no scenes that constantly repeat.

She would die with a smile on her face. Since he didn't fulfill that promise, with C.C crying at the end of episode 25, I did come to the conclusion he did trade for the code, as he would take 'the hell of all eternity' upon himself as punishment for using Geass on so many people.
Yeah...See, the thing about that? Word of God (Read: The writer) says that Lelouch is dead. Likewise, there's no indication that he was ever given the Code, nor was there an opportunity for him to do so. It would also completely defeat the purpose of his sacrifice (Which would be completely undone if he were ever discovered alive), as well as C.C.'s acknowledgment and rejection of the selfishness that she, Charles, and Marianne had displayed in their previous actions.

The ending does include his 'death', but it also leaves enough room to speculate it's all part of the plan for him and C.C to live the quiet life.
Another reason for me to believe he still had immortality is the fact Nunally was able to see what she was not meant to see. It only rarely happens when there is physical contact between a person and a geass user.
I believe my interpretation of the ending is the best plan lelouch could have come up with. He united the world, and now he can make C.C's wish come true.
In the episode where C.C's code was about to be taken, Lelouch found out what her true wish was, she wanted to be loved. He said he knew about her wish, and vowed to make her smile when she would die. It is not like Lelouch to pass on such an important promise, especially since C.C chose for lelouch and not the emperor to end her life there.
The problem being that if he's alive, there's the risk of undoing his entire plan to unite the world. He CAN'T be alive to fulfill her wish, because it would undo years of work if even one person ever realized he survived.
Not only that, but he doesn't need to be alive to fulfill that wish. His promise was that he would ensure that she smiled when she died. Given that he essentially caused her to feel emotions again, as she admitted, he has already essentially fulfilled his end of the deal.

Look at the quote you posted. The DIRECTOR said that he likes to view it as a happy ending, but wanted to leave it to the viewer. It then states immediately afterwards that the writer agrees that he doesn't view Lelouch's END as a tragedy. The use of "Lelouch's end" doesn't imply survival. One who's immortal doesn't "end."
The director is blatantly referring to the mood of the ending, given that they both explicitly stated that they preferred to view it as happy rather than tragic.

Ok......people in the comments have to calm down a bit. However the writers intentions were that Lelouch dies and by doing that he creates a new better world for his younger sister which was his goal. Aswell as when the show started C.C said that Lelouch would have to Atone for his sins, btw this was in the introduction to the show. In the end dying was what the writers have in mind. This is my opinion though you have different ones. >_>
personally this is all the animators fault with this Lelouch is alive theroy. all the body types are the same and have no difference where as in fullmetal thier was difference in body types. all this about clues and and loop holes is kinda irrelevent if you really sat down and listened and watched the anime several times you start to put pieces together and realize what the writers intended. No one wants lelouch to die cause the anime was a enjoyable but all good things come to an end.

I have "proof" exple 1. lelouch killed his father correct? his father had v.v.'s code. u can only get the code through killing the previous owner. so lelouch gained the code from his father. 2. throughout the entire anime C.C. has been seen talking to lelouch's mother who was connected to her through the thought elevator. a place here all subconscious thought is connected. and on the final episode she is heard talking to lelouch.

Yeah, he's not dead. If you look closely at the last episode, he's actually driving the cart C2 is riding in. And there are a loooot of clues to it in the last episode, too. You can find a bunch of videos pointing them out here on youtube.

I agree with what people have been saying this is the best AMV to go with this song. I liked Rini's AMV but it wasn't really that special in terms of editing, I think the main reason it got so much praise was because it was the first one (I think?) to use this song and it used it pretty well. Still not as well as your video!

Seems all the geass watchers who believe "lelouch is dead' have forgotten about the promise lelouch made to C.C.
She would die with a smile on her face. Since he didn't fulfill that promise, with C.C crying at the end of episode 25, I did come to the conclusion he did trade for the code, as he would take 'the hell of all eternity' upon himself as punishment for using Geass on so many people.

Yeah...See, the thing about that? Word of God (Read: The writer) says that Lelouch is dead. Likewise, there's no indication that he was ever given the Code, nor was there an opportunity for him to do so. It would also completely defeat the purpose of his sacrifice (Which would be completely undone if he were ever discovered alive), as well as C.C.'s acknowledgment and rejection of the selfishness that she, Charles, and Marianne had displayed in their previous actions.

The ending does include his 'death', but it also leaves enough room to speculate it's all part of the plan for him and C.C to live the quiet life.
Another reason for me to believe he still had immortality is the fact Nunally was able to see what she was not meant to see. It only rarely happens when there is physical contact between a person and a geass user.

I believe my interpretation of the ending is the best plan lelouch could have come up with. He united the world, and now he can make C.C's wish come true.
In the episode where C.C's code was about to be taken, Lelouch found out what her true wish was, she wanted to be loved. He said he knew about her wish, and vowed to make her smile when she would die. It is not like Lelouch to pass on such an important promise, especially since C.C chose for lelouch and not the emperor to end her life there.

The problem being that if he's alive, there's the risk of undoing his entire plan to unite the world. He CAN'T be alive to fulfill her wish, because it would undo years of work if even one person ever realized he survived.
Not only that, but he doesn't need to be alive to fulfill that wish. His promise was that he would ensure that she smiled when she died. Given that he essentially caused her to feel emotions again, as she admitted, he has already essentially fulfilled his end of the deal.

Yeah, the ending leaves enough room to speculate (In the sense that it makes it abundantly clear that the entirety of his plan revovles around dying). The writer, however, does not. Living the quiet life would leave a gaping flaw in his plan in that he could still be found.
As for Nunnally being able to see what she wasn't meant to see? As you said, that's something that can be done with a Geass user...Something that doesn't require the Code, which is the only thing that provides immortality.

You keep saying the writer says 'this', but where have you found the writer saying it? I can only find statements of the writer saying it is up to the viewer to decide how they view the ending, as you can view it my way, or your way.

Look at the quote you posted. The DIRECTOR said that he likes to view it as a happy ending, but wanted to leave it to the viewer. It then states immediately afterwards that the writer agrees that he doesn't view Lelouch's END as a tragedy. The use of "Lelouch's end" doesn't imply survival. One who's immortal doesn't "end."
The director is blatantly referring to the mood of the ending, given that they both explicitly stated that they preferred to view it as happy rather than tragic.

pretty good altho honestly if u asked my personal opinion it didnt fully do the justice, mayb not enuff effects were used?. Which is not a bad thing cause there are soo many expectations to this song when tied with Code Geass. That being said id probably say this is the best version of the amv ive seen so far, but my search still continues trying to find the perfect "Viva La Vida" amv

Ok......people in the comments have to calm down a bit. However the writers intentions were that Lelouch dies and by doing that he creates a new better world for his younger sister which was his goal. Aswell as when the show started C.C said that Lelouch would have to Atone for his sins, btw this was in the introduction to the show. In the end dying was what the writers have in mind. This is my opinion though you have different ones. >_>

personally this is all the animators fault with this Lelouch is alive theroy. all the body types are the same and have no difference where as in fullmetal thier was difference in body types. all this about clues and and loop holes is kinda irrelevent if you really sat down and listened and watched the anime several times you start to put pieces together and realize what the writers intended. No one wants lelouch to die cause the anime was a enjoyable but all good things come to an end.

I have "proof" exple 1. lelouch killed his father correct? his father had v.v.'s code. u can only get the code through killing the previous owner. so lelouch gained the code from his father. 2. throughout the entire anime C.C. has been seen talking to lelouch's mother who was connected to her through the thought elevator. a place here all subconscious thought is connected. and on the final episode she is heard talking to lelouch.

@Knightof12 THANK YOU! Someone finally uses logic. Code Geass, in my opinion, is the best anime I've ever watched, but I understood that LeLouch was in fact, dead, with only debates on the fan-made, "LeLouch is Alive!" videos that added an extra scene.

Yeah, he's not dead. If you look closely at the last episode, he's actually driving the cart C2 is riding in. And there are a loooot of clues to it in the last episode, too. You can find a bunch of videos pointing them out here on youtube.

You saw him killed before your very eyes, he is dead, just inhabiting C.C.'s Mind =P Just like Marianne did, seriously how can anybody survive a head on impalement to the heart, he had both geasses in his eyes meaning he hadn't traded his mortality for immortality. He was sin, Zero (Suzaku) was redemption, he was purged, and he ended up inhabiting C.C's mind. End of story. HE'S NOT ALIVE.

1. Don't need to have a cow.
2. If you read up on the immortality stuff, anyone who has Geass in both eyes and still has their sanity can trade their immortality. You can even see Lelouch driving the cart in the last episode. There are plenty of other clues, too, if that isn't convincing.

First you have to make inferences even though the identity of the cart driver was never revealed. It's just an assumption, I'm not saying in any way that it is definitely Lelouch. As for wanting to die, the only way to gain the code after having Geass in both eyes while maintaining sanity is to die first in which the cycle begins of immortality and being brought back to life.

I agree with what people have been saying this is the best AMV to go with this song. I liked Rini's AMV but it wasn't really that special in terms of editing, I think the main reason it got so much praise was because it was the first one (I think?) to use this song and it used it pretty well. Still not as well as your video!

That was amazing! =O The AMV was pretty much perfect but there was the ending you should have extended. The part where lelouch says I destroys worlds and creat them to Nunaly instead of just creat worlds. That's the only part that caught me off abit but besides that it was PERFECT down to every word of the song. Congrats for making an epic AMV...Hope you'll have a downloadable verson.

this video is the best i have seen. my heart almost stop when I saw how you use scenes where he affected ppl's lives. I just wish you didn't use the brownish effects. I will like to see the natural colorful colors of the show. Also when the song says i could not believe what I have become, you should have a scene where Kallen finds out who Zero really is. have her shock face. And the castle stand part should be the large weapon thing burned by the sun. Also subtitles should be taken except begin

Even though many people do yuse this song for not only Code Geass, but Death Note as well, it still means a lot in each video, and always gets me.
Lelouch only ruled for two months over Britannia, but he was king of his own fandom for a very long time XD

Out of all the Viva la Vida amvs I've seen for Code Geass, yours was the absolute best. It made me so sad all over again even though I've accepted the fact that Lelouch is dead... T_T Fantastic job!!
