  • Nausiating.

  • I love this movie.

  • @Starfyre05: The "dubbed" version in the film is of the YOUNG Baby Jane Hudson, played by a child star who could not sing Bette DID sing THIS version.

  • 0.02 - the penguin from Batman returns lol

  • This scene is matched by VB's sarcastic looks.

  • bette davis what a legend !!!! best actress ever !!!!

  • OMG one of my favorites !

  • House of Wax... Creepy shit.

  • LMAO !!

  • I remember Victor Buono playing King Tut on Batman,he was a good actor but died young he was only in his thirties.

  • @TheMarkster1957 No, he didn't. He died in 1982, in his fifties. Check your facts.

  • Whats this woman been smoking that would make her think she could really make a comeback, who in thier right mind would actually pay money to listen to this,I think the man would be better off just playing his piano without her.

  • @TheMarkster1957 LOL!!! I've been saying that exact same thing for YEARS!!

  • House of Wax :)! Great Horror film and I love the cinema scene which plays this ^.^

  • she looks like courtney love's demented grandmother

  • @michelleleawaldrop1 Don't be silly. Courtney Love doesn't look young enough to be Miss Davis' granddaughter.

  • I love his look at 1:46- he looks like, "yeah, right..."

  • @ExtremeRocker671 OMG...with Vincent Price? One of my faves.

  • @ohsnapiam59

vincent price???? Where....do you mean victor buono the piano player???

  • @RhythmOfLines The poster was talking about another movie...the House of Wax.

  • I haven't seen this since I was around 9, just watched it again last week and now I love it again. I was home from school this weekend and I started singing this song. Then my sister Emily came in and said "Jeez Nell, you're not gonna make me Blanche are you? Seriously, that is scary good." Then I ran into my room, came out and told her to close her eyes and hold out her hand. I said "I don't have any rats but I do have this, enjoy." Then when she dropped it I said "No, not my rubber roachie!"

  • @BurtonFanWaywardGirl .... LMAO!! OMG!!! what you posted is some DAMN funny SHIT!!

  • This is movie gold right here...the song is kinda creepy though...but it doesnt get any better than Joan Crawford and Bette Davis...talk about a sibling rivalry!

  • They should autp-tune this before they put it on her album. LOL

  • @nyanxrawr i bet your a gay twat, bet this video reminds you of your slag of a mother

  • @nyanxrawr LOL!!! agreed!

  • some movie scenes speak for itself.

  • She's singing to Alexander Hollenius ...

  • To most of the working 'actresses' today...THIS is what you call acting!

  • @ohsnapiam59 AGREED!!!

  • @ohsnapiam59 I concur :) Anybody can be a "beauty", it takes real talent to be an semi-evil psycho hag, much respect to Bette Davis.....

  • @TheBambieyes LOL...but I agree.

  • @ohsnapiam59 hear hear!!!!

  • ¡Qué grande, Bette Davis!

  • Did Victor Buono actually play the piano in that scene or did someone else? or, is Victor Buono just as good as Baby Jane....

  • omg,i read the credits and the voice was dubbed ,that was not bettie singing, damn, after all these years thinking it was hers, lipsynicing is everywhere, she could act for ass off,the song is not that hard for to do,the singer who did it sounded like davis, would sound if she did it on her own,oh snap

  • @starfyre05 really, I have to look!

  • house of wax...!!!

  • Sad, how she ended up... :'(

  • When did Justin Bieber start dressing in drag?

Go easy on the lipstick, honey.

  • @CinnabonChan LMAO!!!!!! I laughed at your posting til I couldn't hardly breathe!!!!

  • She had nice legs.

  • by far the creepiest thing ever! lol

  • House of Wax brought me here!!

  • @PunkAttitude8V lol same here...i just had to look it up

  • Bette Davis, I love you!!

  • Buono is indeed masterful with facial expressions and Bette is at her maniacal best here. She wales like a howling tomcat you would through a boot at and I know that my gut will hurt at :46 every time.

  • This is so disturbing!

  • Seriously,I don't get scared when watching gory movies like Saw or that girl coming from the well stuff. I just watch this and it gives me the creeps. This never fails to scare the shit outta me. My favorite movie <3 I love Bette Davis

  • too creepy but as well too wonderful! I love this movie!!

  • I really don't think her singing is all that bad here. But then again, I have grown up in the age of gaga......

  • @fishyfishycup Listen to Lady Gaga acoustic. She has talent.

  • i love it

  • After all these years, Baby Jane Hudson still has it!!

  • @bobzeda Ya think?I wouldn't go see her even if it was free admission.

  • I always found this segment rather distasteful a woman who is obviously seriously mentally ill and nobody tries to help her. I know its just a movie just really offended me.

  • @cmcb09 Her sister wanted her put in a mental home, that was akin to helping in those days.

  • @cmcb09 .... CRIPES.. lighten UP, it's just a movie, you even said that yourself LOL!!

  • @kerryincolumbus Your comment is true that's just always been one of my pet peeves.

  • what an awsome actress.this whole scene is just brilliant.whater happed to writers?

  • this heffer was crazy....I would have ran her ass over with the wheel chair....

  • Oh..I love this song :D

His address is Heaven above :)

  • Only one person could have played this part and that is Bette Davis.

  • LOL, those faces he makes are killing me. XD

  • Bette Davis was awesome in this film!! she totally deserved that Oscar!!! she is just awesome in every role!!

  • The looks the guy gives her are priceless.

  • this reminds me of sunset boulevard, except jane is probably ten times crazier then norma desmond

  • I saw this scene in House of Wax and I was like, I better get to see this film (in this film) too. Haha.

  • You know, this scene doesn't seem real scary when you've never seen the movie before. lol

But, I'm thinkng about watching the entire movie. :D

  • Only the greatest actress of all time, Bette Davis, could make an absolutely mesmerizing performance out of such a grotesque character. No actress will ever equal her talent.

  • Bette's legs show when she spins and they are actually pretty nice, age considered haha.

  • @DiabolicalAngel BD always had very nice legs and according to Jack Warner, a nice set of "bulbs". I read she gained weight for this film because her character needed to be heavier than she was in real life but she knew she had to dance in the film and she wouldn't be able to do it well if she was padded so she gained weight. The weight went to her waist not her legs. Look up her "This is your Life" episode which was done a few years after this and she is definitely thinner.

  • Joan facial expression like what the fuck is that awful sound- its like a cat being spun around in a washing machine. XD!!!

  • Poor Jane.

  • scary and mesmerizing all at the same time...

  • Love the looks on Victor Buono's face..it says it all: Hot Mess.

  • @tonybklyn lol

  • @tonybklyn Joan's face too! XD!!!!

  • Ms Bette Davis in her finest, even out of key, she was fantastic, aided in this classical miscue by Victor Buono, and looking on in horror, Ms Joan Crawford; when I first heard the big cheese was gonna' put this movie on, I thought it was impossible, shows you what I know, correct. Thank you withlotsabutta for posting this classic.

  • Ms bette Davis in her finest, even out of key, she was fantastic, aided in this classical menagerie by Victor Buono, and looking on in horror, Ms Joan Crawford; when I first heard the big cheese was gonna' put this movie on, I thought it was impossible, shows you what I know, correct. Thank you withlotsabutta for posting this classic.

  • Ok who can honestly say this isnt a peek into the future of Lindsey Lohan's life...I mean seriously.

  • @Newtwist75 haaha..OMG i used to love Lindsay Lohan... but this is really becoming true day by day.

  • @Newtwist75 I highly doubt that Lohan will make it to her 40s let alone 60s

  • @kimmois1 I would say she would be pushing up daisies by 35.

  • Oh My God...I love Madonna's new look! LOL

  • @SkankExpose Geriatrica

  • @SkankExpose ..... LOL! you are SO right ! Once all of Madonna's plastic surgery in her face either melts or disinigrates, this is EXACTLY what she's gonna look like !!

  • TIME OUT, HONEY!

  • that actually is a great song, its so singable and cute!

  • BETTY AND CRAWFORD ARE PHENOMINAL

  • I laugh and feel embarrassed when I watch this scene. One of my favorite movies.

  • By far, one of the creepiest saddest flicks ever put onto celluloid. Both ladies were magnificent, scary, brilliant and emotional. What a film. This song still strikes the fear of god in me!

  • I remember seeing this on House of wax

  • Wow Lindsey Lohan's really let herself go.

  • This scene (okay, the whole movie) is depressing.

  • Creepy! This is Courtney Love in about 10 years.

  • fantastic actress

  • Everytime she starts singing 0:35 I start shitting my pants because she is that creepy

  • Ah, I get it. Victor's line "It's wonderful!" here is actually code for "Call the police!"

  • Lady Gaga looks rough in this video

  • I'm so surprised that people were actually scared of it. I've always found this scene so funny!

  • LOVE IT! LOVE Bette Davis and love this film. This song was stuck in my head for days after I first saw the film.

  • This used to scare the shit out of me.

  • Bette Davis is amazing

  • The creepiest thing about this video? I know somebody that looks and sounds exactly like she does.

  • @darthsentinel I could have sworn I saw this very woman working in the business class section on an american airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York last week.

  • 0:14

The look on his face is priceless.

  • She was awesome in that film

  • That was so creepy.... But, Bette did the great job.

  • OMG whenever I am having a bad day, THIS CLIP CRACKS ME UP!!!! OMG, thanks sooooo much!

  • Does anybody have the sheet music?

  • demaiiis

o filme....a musica ....as duas deusas

  • Bette, Joan and Vic are awesome! The expressions on Vic's face are hilarious!!

  • Peter Kay at the piano!!

  • Peter Kay is accompanying her!!

  • Peter Kay at the piano!!

  • I gotta tell you - I absolutely love this movie and both Davis and Crawford were marvelous, but Victor Buono nearly steals the film. He was sensational!

  • poor cute crazy little girl...

  • Sad but oh so true.....

  • This gripping psychological thriller from 1962, I saw many years ago.

Jane is a spoiled brat. Her father met her every wish. There is even a "Baby Jane" doll. With her jealous sister Blanche problems arise.

In the living room, she sings her signature song from when she was a little girl, “I’ve Written a Letter to Daddy.” But when she gets a look at herself in the mirror and sees what time and age has done to her, she screams

The film was a massive success.

    Thanks for this classic video

  • My mum showed me this as a kid and I loved it and ever since Bette Davis has been my favorite actress. (:

  • I remember watching this on Friday Fright Night on TV as a kid and it always scared the hell out of me.

  • @ReviewCam LOL! Great comment!

  • As wonderful as Bette is in this sequence, credit must also be given to the guy playing the pianist. The combo of his fake sycophancy and the sickened looks he gives when playing the song speak volumes. The scene wouldn't be half as great if not punctuated by his extraordinary facial expressions.

  • That is hilarious to see alone.

Bette deserved the an Oscar just for doing that...such a classic scene!

  • This movie has shades of "Sunset Boulevard", another film about fleeting fame.

  • Erie, this kinda scarred me when I was little but I loved it! Still do. That's acting!

  • Lol im a teen and i love Bette Davis ,Me and my friends had a sleepover last night and we were watching this movie ,we went through being scared, laughing and being sad. and whoever is arguing about Joan and Bette are stupid, they are both one of the best actresses hollywood ever had, both icons. But i prefer Bette because she was such a unique and original and even though it should be all about the art,i like Bette Davis more as a person as well.

  • @cutie13124 That's a GREAT cmment! Thank you!

  • @cutie13124 Great comment Cutie..Have you seen Now Voyager? Just is so good! Hope you can see it.

  • @cutie13124 I prefer Bette too :)

  • Phahaha @ Joan Crawford's face at 1:18.

  • holy shiz! this is real? Im watching House of Wax on tv and they show this in the theater when the chick is hiding...its just creepy D:

  • @Roxas13twilikeese Talk about referencing a good movie in a bad one.

  • it funny because the acters actually apparently hated eachother! so in the scenes where janes going mental she actually enjoyed it LOL!! but it was joan crawford who was the mean one.

  • i thought the guy playing the piano looked scared. was he supposed to?

  • @poetinelkridge Nah. More like grossed out at the sight of a woman of mature years in heavy pancake makeup dressed as a five year old singing a twee children's song in an artless and corny manner.

  • The guy playing the piano looked embarassed didn't he. LOL

In real life it was Joan Crawford who was the nasty one. I watched the film Mommie Dearest and by all accounts she wasn't a nice person.

  • her singing in this clip was bad, but not that bad. it just got really creepy toward the end. awesome movie, though.

  • I was fortunate enough to have met Bette Davis 30 years ago and I can assure you she was anything but a 'total C.....T' as you so eloquently put it.

  • @PaulDeLaWare I agree. I always loved Bette Davis but she went way up in my estimation as a person when I found out she was the only white member of an all-black, all star, entertainment tour group who entertained the black soldiers during the World War 2 I believe. The Army was segregated then. MUCH respect.

  • "Joan had class, Bette was a total CUNT!"

LOL: Ask Mercedes McCambridge about Joan's "classiness" and lack of "star crap".

  • One of the best performances ever, speaking of Bette Davis.

Also, Victor Buono was such a unique character actor. He was great in this role.

  • Agreed.

  • @AJthemoviebuff Buono's facial expressions are priceless. Starts with feigned amusement to disgust and then absolute terror as he scampers out the door (not shown here)

  • the funny thing in baby jane is that we understand both sisters and want them to get the best.

  • Weird, isn't it? We have total compassion for both of them, perhaps because they represent that aspect of the human comedy: to be pathetic and still hope for better.

  • Thank you for posting this classic and wonderful movie.

    Great job.

  • Thank you very much for watching this great classic clip!! And for commenting!

  • Bette Davis was amazing in this film, and simply terrific in these scenes: she looks creepy, pathetic, funny, scary...An unforgettable movie, indeed. Thank you for sharing, as always!

  • Thank you ... as always ... for dropping by and for taking the time to comment. Always appreciated and I'm glad you like this clip!

  • you suck.;

  • Ohh, sooo GREAT this cut from that world famous film.

Typical Bette and Aldridge at all.

    Hahaha

Ja, The Davis is unbeatable !!!

I like very much Victor Buono too.

He was one of Aldridge´s favorite actors.

Look also "Hush Hush Sweet Charlot". There we find them all again....

    5********

  • Excellent comment as always and thank you once again ... as always. Best from California, Oncle!

  • Victor Buono is fantastic!

  • I agree. Great performance!

  • Great film!!

  • Thanks for commenting!

  • Love this - its hilarious, ghoulish and even tragic. She really went all out in this performance!

  • Agreed.

  • My ALL-TIME favorite movie! Absolutely the best! Thanks for such a fabulous job doing this. 5 big stars!

    Love,

    Mama

  • Thank you, Mama!

  • It's amazing what she did with a little make-up! Bette was actually quite a beautiful woman! This is obvious in her early work, before she started using the "crazy lady" make-up! But with the clown-face make-up, she defines the horror genre and wonderful crazy ladies everywhere! Thanks for the clip!

    Peace,

    \A/

  • Awwa!!! How nice to hear from you!! How are you, my friend??/ Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to comment!!

  • I'm good, hope you are well! I don't get around to YouTube as much as I'd like. But your clips are some of the best! And ya gotta love the Bette! Be well.

    Peace,

    \A/

  • I know what movie i'm going to pop in tonight :)

  • LOL!

  • Thank you !
