when I was a kid I wished they would star Stallone and Schwarzenegger in the Contra movie. now we have to wait for the Expendables 2. If I see them both in jungle gear wielding spread rifles, I'm petitioning to rename the movie to Contra.
@roman6a You don't have to buy the cabinet, they sell arcade boards separately too. Super Contra is slightly rare, though, so the JAMMA board goes for around $90 ~ $250 depending on market conditions. One thing to consider - Super Contra was designed to play on a vertical screen, requiring either a special cabinet or a nicer setup that'll rotate it on a horizontal screen.
I've gotta say this, but it should be illegal for music to kick this much ass -- it's too unfair to Konami's competitors! C'mon, you just can't compete with this kind of awesomeness: amazing gameplay, spectacular music, and an opening track that decimates your face with how much it rocks. If kicking ass were a crime, Konami would get a life sentence for this. ^_^
I wonder why it took Konami so long to bring out the Arcade versions of Contra to home systems? The Contra games should have been included on every retro game collection that Konami previously released!
