To those who say they're not playing their instruments here (apart from the drum/whistling synth) - are you deaf? Yes, the sound is bad, but you can hear Steele hitting her bass and sliding fingers across the strings at 1:27 and probably the only time I ever heard Hoff's guitar next to Peterson's in this song is at 2:53.

Susanna's strength has always been her magnificent voice, stage presence/showmanship, and incredible beauty, sex appeal, and playful mannerisms, but as a guitarist she's very mediocre. Don't misunderstand me, music does not need to be complicated to be beautiful or enjoyable but complexity is necessary for someone to be considered a virtuoso as an instrumentalist.

I've always liked the Bangles sound but I wouldn't go all gaga that they played their instruments. Vicki and Debbie Peterson and Michael Steele while not virtuosos are competent players on their respective instruments. However, Susanna Hoffs, as beautiful as she is, is not a particularly good guitarist. She certainly is capable enough to strum chords on the relatively simple music that the Bangles play but uses a capo alot to compensate for more complex chord structures she can't play.

Sprintbass Susanna Hoffs is not playing a Ric 620. The 620 has a different body shape and is a solid body instrument. Tom Petty is holding a 12 string 620 on the cover of Damn the Torpedoes. The lovely SH is holding a Ric 350 which is a full scale version of the 325 and like the 325 is a semi-hollow body instrument. Also hers has an "R" tailpiece instead of the Accent vibrato found on the Ric 325-- which is of course the guitar John Lennon played.
