  • we do stretches like this in cross country. and yet my knees still crack and ache.

  • i can feel the band going over the outside of my left knee and i have tried these stretches for a month but it makes it worse which is really weird? there is not any pain but it feels like the band goes over the outside of my knee EVEN MORE.

    should i keep stretching it and it will eventually go away?

    ANY advice is most welcome, thanks!

    ps, i dislocated my left hip (posterior) 10 years ago, not sure if that has anything to do with my knee though?

  • @livelifexplore That might be it. usually, if your hips are not faring well, then neither will your knees. try some hip exercises as well :)

  • These work folks, the calf/hamstring stretch worked great and i started getting immediate relief with knee discomfort.

  • i do physical demanding exercises because i enlisted in the Marines and im having really bad knee/upper shin pain(tibia) does anyone know if these stretches are the right thing for me to do? or would i be wasting my time would i could be doing something different like seeing a doctor? (low on cash right now and have no health)

  • Usually Patellar Tendonities ( pain below knee cap ) Stretches wont do , it will still hurt during ur games. Only thing you can do is to strengthen the muscles at the tendon .

  • i know this sounds weird but my knee doesn't hurt when i put pressure on it but when i'm walking it actually hurts on the "return"...does that make sense? the pain is on the inside of my knee (left side of my right knee) i'm totally perplexed...maybe you have an idea?

  • what if your knees occasionally don't allow you to bend them more than about 30 degrees.. so that you can't stretch your quad. Would that be related to the problems addressed in this video? If I try to lift up my heel while keeping the rest of my leg straight, it feels like there is twisting in the knee joint. I think it may be a muscle imbalance/stretching/tension sort of thing, but hard to correct when I can barely stretch out my quads.

  • @SParkApCider this is true. Usually people have an unbalanced flexibility. for myself, ive seen first hand how advanced flexibly and strength training can correct and increase the integrity of the body. The rule is to stretch what you strengthen and strengthen what you stretch.

  • This is an excellent stretch, i was having knee pain and just searched for pain relieving knee pain in youtube. Indeed felt good, make sure you follow the instruction exactly, the butt squeez will get an intense stetch..in ham-string/quads....

  • Well, I've always been told to try and hold your stretches for atleast 30 seconds a stretch..

  • I really don't have knee pain. I have knee stiffness. When I play basketball and I'm about to jump it feels as if my knees aren't strong enough to support the temporary kneeling before the jump. That's why my knees always feel awkward when I'm trying to get up and grab the rim. I probably could jump higher if it weren't for stiff or weak knees.I hate that shit. :(

  • same here but for tennis. when i have to bend my knees it feels like its not flexible as well as being to weak to support my weight :(

  • Have exactly the same feeling. I bought a knee brace, when I played this morning it helped a lot. But I'm only 21 (6 ft 7) and I refuse to be an old man.

    Stretching helped a lot dawg, make sure you do some weight exercises too.
