@AngryMrBubbles Why so angry? Yes, this video is 3 or 4 years old... it was added over 2 years ago. While the menus have changed in Access 2007 and 2010, the concepts are exactly the same as I show in this video.
Why not just put a link to your site right there in your info . your tutorials are great keep it up. But how do you give customers a rebate using a query lets say a 15% rebate thanks..
i will answer my own question: yes...the CTRL+H feature can be used. HOWEVER....the update query is also used for "updated all products that are currently $49.95 by 15%"
...by the way...this instructor of these videos does a great job.
John, you are correct. Find and replace works fine for simple replacements. However, to make calculated changes, or have the ability to AUTOMATE changes (so people who know nothing about Access can do it with the click of a button) you really need to know update queries.
thanks for your answer. by the way, if you don't mind me saying...i am an award winnning instructor (that is a fancy way of saying students really really like my training). Not that it matters but from one instructor to another, i really like your style, its clear, its slow enough to 'get it', its explained in a very understandable manner and i just want to give you complete 'thanks' for making great videos. i don't know everything (yet) and your videos really helped ALOT. thanks a ton. :)

@AngryMrBubbles Agreed. Beginner users with 2007 or 2010 might be confused. If that's the case, they should wait for my updated tutorials.

You seem to have turned off the warning messagebox "You are about to update X records" when you ran your query.

Hi there I am a student that is having a hard time doing criteria's. How do I do all of the equipment purchased in a calendar year

can't this be done with the CTRL+H feature.
CTRL+H is the find and replace technique.
find northeast
replace with north.
so???
