Bicycles are probably the most efficient transport vehicles in Japan as the cars are totally useless due to heavy traffic. I understand that recumbents are a lot faster on flats due to low drag but is it quite hard going uphills? I ride a MTB with semislick tyres and doing 30km/h on flat is quite a struggle.
furionese, with semi-slick tyres, the recumbent is a dream on the flat. 30km/h should be your usual cruising speed on a recumbent, with 35km/h if you are prepared to sweat and have a hard workout.
Very time efficient when you think about the fact that many people drive to work and from work (one hour) and then go to the gym (about an hour and a half including driving to the gym, showering etc). I got my hour of quality exercise at the same time as commuting. In four days time though, I'll be doing seven hour days on the bike for about eight months - www.14degrees.org

Yeah, I did, but I never got around to editing it. 70km/h I think was the top speed that day. Great fun.

Great camera setup. I'm moving to Japan next month and really appreciate your view from the saddle.

Fantastic clip to a great soundtrack. My kids loved it, and demanded it be replayed over and over. I like the way you set up the camera.
