  • lol i got the same tach in my truck with a 22r

  • Lol! "Shakey Shakey"

  • It's called a 'Catalytic convertor'. Not a 'Cadillac converter'

  • does the cam adversely affect mpg?

  • toyota's are bad ass!!!!!!! u guys are dumb as shit v6 its a lil girl motor my big block chevy 688 is a big boy toy peace bitches

  • that sounds so good!

  • @herbienbrian2 thanks dude!

  • fuck them neighbors

  • @luckycraftsammy It's the USA, the neighbours will probably shoot if he pisses them off!

  • what kind of gas mileage and horse power do u get. is there a big difference.,

  • @1tonyota after all was said and done i put down 250 at the wheels with a 75 shot. it was stripped down to about 2200 pounds too.

  • here in the stupid smog run state of california you could never get away with driving this thing on the street lol

  • I miss my little yota :( most fun truck I've had yet

  • This makes me miss my cammed 20R. You dont know how many times people would tell me I didnt have it tuned right.

  • @magalito2 LMAO...V6 1JZ? I love when people try to sound like they know what they are talking about, but fail.

  • no piss them off hahahaha! :D

  • i like that man...how much was the cam for that truck?

  • sounds like my '77 Celica....built motor, Weber 32/36, long tube head, flowmaster muffler....sweet.....dude commenting below....fyi....Supra's = straight six

  • I just read everything you got on this truck , and tell you its done just right, great set up ,cool ride. Old Toyotas never die they just get better.

  • yeah unfortunately this one did die. drivetrain was fine but it had that frame rot and mine wasn't covered in the recall for some reason. so now i have an 05 civic. i really miss this truck.

  • you always buy a new frame whenever you buy and old toyota then you have brand new frame witha perfect truck ontop.

  • @oinkinstein Ouch, man, I wished I had a Toyo Pickup to give you...

  • @oinkinstein Oh god, you actually bought a Honda after a Yoter pickup? I'm sorry, man.

  • I love my 86 'yota 22R weber 32/36, offenhauser intake manifold, pace setter header, D.U.I. ignition, dynomax super flow muffler, and 30 over bored, engine still has less than 7,000 miles on it too.

I'm done with performance parts, I'm getting 18 mpg and thats fine with me, 4x4 too, 265/75/16 tires (31") and 4:10 geared , if I ever get wealthy, I'm going to own a fleet of 30 yota trucks, one for every day of the month!

  • ur a stupid fuck captaineddie84 urs sounds like shit man.....he hasnt cut the fucken exhaust, his is also injected so it will shit all over ur 22R, and by the way a 22R and 22RE block is the same block, and the head is the same too, just a different manifold.

what tool puts a holley on a 22R....leave holleys for big boys toys like big 6's and V8's and get urself a 22RE setup.....fag

urs idles like a stock 22R.....a cammed 22R idles like this one right here champ.

  • Actually, a 22R and a 22RE block are not necessarily the same, nor are the heads the same. The deck height and combustion chamber shapes are most definitely different on various years and the parts do not necessarily interchange.

  • 85-95 22R is same as 85-95 22RE, older ones vary.

  • That would be why I said they are not necessarily the same. You certainly aren't going to get a 20R head on a later 22R block for higher compression.

  • Just being technical for anybody who needed the info.

  • @DJBJ24 Don't be so sure. 22R blocks had 2 different deck heights, and the older heads were open chamber. What it sounds like to me, is he ran the early 22R head on the late 22RE block. The open chamber head would give him lower compression, but shaving it would bring it back up. The Holley carb is offered for them, for ease of tuning. It's either the 390 Holley, Weber down draft, Weber side draft, or stock Aisin carb for options. If he's running the early head, he can't go EFI. Just sayin'

  • you're pretty stupid, without a cam its alot more mellow/smooth idling.

  • your pretty stupid, without a cam it won't run at all.........

  • nice bro... what cam did you get? what did it cost? and any further exhaust work?

  • the 22re is made to idle at 700 rpm's

    good truck

  • Bump up the idle and timing a bit and complete the exhaust with a resonator/muffler combo. Rev it some more and don't worry about the neighbours.

  • sounds great, nothing like a little 4 banger.di that cam give any more HP?

  • Awsome sound bro on the truck, Have you figured out the torqe and hp yet. I have done almost the same exact thing to my 91 toyota pick up. I can't get to run smooth in tracfic which sucks buts okay. I figure that i reach the limit on what to do to the motor so I pick up a 22rte to through in my truck. Good idea or bad?

  • haha I've ditched the toyota engines for now man, I had a 305 laying around that im trying to wedge in there. thats the only way to get respectable power out of these trucks. good luck with yours though.

  • Bull shit.... Your exhaust fell off. You wired in a tach like every other rice grinder POS wanna be chrome fart can exhaust driver. Anyone can make an engine run like ass. You wouldn't put all that money/time into an engine only to put in a GM 305. BTW that cam won't work in the 22RE (EFI) motor. Thanks for the laugh though....

  • i have that exact tac in my s10 .. it is weird.. when its cold at.. when you first start the truck its like the tac doesnt want to move.. its slow.. anyway.. the cam ssounds badass

  • yeah mine has been getting stuck at 2500 then it kicks back in at 3000. it started doing this before the cold so i think it's electrical but im not sure.

  • o..ok.. idk i why couldnt are trucks just have come with a tac in the instument cluster..

  • what size cam? do you know what the max is for EFI?

  • 260's are good for these motors, makes great power for the mid range, 27-80's are too much and will cause really bad idle and hard to drive with, and thats because you will lose too much low end torque

  • thanks. Im into crawling and mud. Need a torque cam.

  • no problem, my truck is 2wd and manual. i only have stock cam, but a torque cam does wonders on the street too, and things like.... THE BURNOUTS!!! lol, and taking off from the line, me and my 2 other friends have trucks only, they got V8 chevy and Ford, i got the toyota lol.

but yeah, torque is what the 22RE is made for!

  • frames pretty rusty around the spring hangers.

  • Nice rough idle cam is doing you good is sounds like.

  • my dad had a 22r(78 celica) it made about 1000 hp and 700 fp torq......this video remindes me of how it sounded

  • thats impossible

  • he stroked the hell out of it.....i can send you the dyno sheets

  • please do, thats fucking insane haha

  • please send me the dyno sheets aloso. thank you

  • please send me the dyno sheets also. thank you

  • send me one too bro

  • Hey I'm blind so i'm sorry for askin but what kind of Tachometer is that, how much and was it easy to put in?

  • What kind of motor is in there?

  • read the description, its a 22re toyota motor

  • No shit... Is that a 4 cyl or a 6 cyl?

  • ...learn how to google, a 22re is a 4

  • That thing sound sweet for a 4cyl

  • thanks man

  • You have that cam in a RE? how does it run on the street? Im going with the EFI Pro.527 is a bit much for me.

  • how much more torque and HP do u think u get

  • eh about 245 hp, and 260 ft/lbs

  • 245hp haha ,i would love to see proof of that. If your lucky you have 145 crank hp

  • Agreed. If more than doubling the factory output was as simple as putting a cam, exhaust, a little port and polish work, and a better tune Toyota never would have built a turbo version or a V-6. You're claiming as much power as a Vortec 350 damn near. .

  • Hey, what cam do you have in there? I picked one up from LC Engineering and was just wondering. Also, where in Illinois do you live? I'm from the Chicagoland area and have got the exact same truck (heavily modified though), and was wondering if you'd like to check it out some time. I don't have any videos of it yet cause I'm not done with it, but it's worth seeing. Let me know man, I'd appreciate it. Looks and sounds good though!

  • sounds like my race car. which has no exhaust. lol its cut after the converter. hell yeah. lol.
