no, vanilla sky was a great addaptation of the original. vanilla sky added the symbolism and the effects of dreams and spirituality and also displayed the concept of how the small things of life matter the most. which is what abre los ojos didnt have. cameron crow had a great insight, and used the inspiration of the orignal to the fullest
