Didnt we all mess around as kids...its part of growing up..Now that I have a little son, I see a lot of Tucker in him and thats a good thing in my book
Lets be honest teachers always did turn a blind eye to bullying. Doesn't matter what day and age it goes on they do not want to admit it goes on. And I for one am sick of seeing this flipping debates. FFS I just want to watch nostalgic grange hill in peace not look at no sodding debates!!
It's mad Mrs. Jenkins talking about Tucker knowing the difference between right and wrong, considering he was hit instead of being taught the difference. Same goes for virtually every kid who was hit as a kid - all they know is "hide this from other people" and "violence gets me what I want" cus that's what they were taught when hit as kids. And then the stupid parents want the kids hit again and think it's going to teach them something other than that violence is OK! Idiots - hitting don't work

@TheSaturdaysRemixes you must live in America surely? Cus it's illegal in the UK for a PARENT to use the cane, so it certainly ain't legal for a teacher too, private school or not.
@TheSaturdaysRemixes under what law? I think someone lied to you - because if a parent is not allowed to do that because it's now known to be abusive, it makes no sense that said parent can instruct someone else to do it
@TheSaturdaysRemixes I think you should ask someone other than a teacher - they have a vested interest in feeding you bullshit. And you aint replied and it's the 6th of November :)
I remember my days of caning back in school in the 80's, then I relocated to Jamaica and low n behold they used straps across the back and on the palms of your hands.
Bring back the caine then maybe their would not the disrespectful majority thier are today in schools.I had the slipper when i was young a couple of times. And that shit you feared not to do wrong again.i did not do me any harm!! just made me realise write from wrong.
Who would be a teacher in this day and age? Not me, that's for sure. They don't care about they didn't care about the kids in the past, and they certainly don't care now. Bullying for instance, schools turn a blind eye and brush it under the carpet, and that is now.
@theglitterband You're talking bollocks... there may be some poor teachers but most of them do it because they do indeed care.... they surely can't be doing it for the money or working conditions, can they?
parents attitudes are so different to todays. Nowadays the parents would be threatening to sue the school for picking on their poor innocent darlings.
Hmmm that would explain then why when i was in middle school the head teacher slapped us pupils sometimes. It was either still in effect then, or he was just being a law onto himself.
that be about right then. I started secondry school in 1988, and i never got punished with corporal punishment. I got the odd old skool style teacher who slapped me round the head sometimes, but that was it. Otherwise it was just lines, detentions and suspensions that was punishment.
xxrobfalconxx, in state schools it was banned in 1987 and in private schools 1998. It was the worst thing they ever did as schools are now powerless to punish the little yobs.
I agree, i honestly feel sorry for secondry school teachers now, it really is a job that comes with a big bright target painted on your back now. The goverment decided that corporal punishment was too brutal for kids, but instead of replacing it with something effective, they replaced it with nothing, which is where the problem mainly lies i reckon. Detentions and suspensions are hardly a deterent, to a kid now, a suspension is a 2 week holiday.
It would properly punish the little twats who thinks they can get away with anything and treat adults like dirt. These days kids are out of control. And I am a mother as well.
I'm with you, belfastlawd. Corporal Punishment would be about as outmoded as National Service. Have people ever thought that kids misbehave because their parents are shit at parenting?
@Wolverhampton1 to be fair in adulthood you learn lessons in other ways. without the cane kids have no effective means of knowing they done wrong and not to repeat it again.
@chrcoluk ehh, how dumb do you think kids are nowadays? we don't need to be hit by grown ups to know we done wrong. Geeze, some people just needa grow up x_x

Seeing as I just wrote a 4000 word essay on the history and concept of corporal punishment, I can safely say that you madam, are a freak.
You wish to give dozens of individuals the right to hit your kids without limit?
You agree with public humiliation for children?
fuck meeeee, I hope your kids get away from you as soon as possible! what age are you?
'Cause you're either some old tart who's about 70 years old & stuck in the past, or else your just a twat. Well! which is it freak?
