It's mad Mrs. Jenkins talking about Tucker knowing the difference between right and wrong, considering he was hit instead of being taught the difference. Same goes for virtually every kid who was hit as a kid - all they know is "hide this from other people" and "violence gets me what I want" cus that's what they were taught when hit as kids. Who would be a teacher in this day and age? Not me, that's for sure. They don't care about they didn't care about the kids in the past, and they certainly don't care now. Bullying for instance, schools turn a blind eye and brush it under the carpet, and that is now.

Hmmm that would explain then why when i was in middle school the head teacher slapped us pupils sometimes. It was either still in effect then, or he was just being a law onto himself.

that be about right then. I started secondry school in 1988, and i never got punished with corporal punishment. I got the odd old skool style teacher who slapped me round the head sometimes, but that was it. Otherwise it was just lines, detentions and suspensions that was punishment.

I agree, i honestly feel sorry for secondry school teachers now, it really is a job that comes with a big bright target painted on your back now. The goverment decided that corporal punishment was too brutal for kids, but instead of replacing it with something effective, they replaced it with nothing, which is where the problem mainly lies i reckon. Detentions and suspensions are hardly a deterent, to a kid now, a suspension is a 2 week holiday.
