  • Lol i played it in 1996-7-8 :) on my first console PS :) first game i every played on PS

  • BEST !

  • this game is awesome i want it :D

  • First Doom, then Halo and now Call of Duty. It seems that at any given time there's a staple FPS that every other developer copies from.

  • Same people behind the Resistance series made this. Classic game.

  • I used to play this way fucking back in '97-'98. I always figured the reason for the lack of ammo was to encourage you to rely more on your psi abilities, the problem was that your psi abilities just didn't seem all that interesting and didn't seem to much more than what your higher end regular weapons did.

I will say this, it wasn't without it's charm, it was definitely quirky, and the level design for it's time was very good. But overall I just don't think the game has aged that well at all.

  • I have this on my psp :) yupi

  • MAN THIS BRINGS BACK GOOD MEMORIES! ^__^

  • this game coppied Halo 3

  • @Jgearhalo

LOL this came out WAAYYYY before halo 3 :P

  • @Jgearhalo Just keep finger painting Master Chief in art class and leave the comments the the big boys, ok Champ?

  • @redbuck82 no sadly it doesnt, i just bought the game for 5 bucks the other day,, ah the golden age of gaming, back before it was so mainstream where every dev copies whats popular to everydetail, grnated back then when people copied somthing they were actually copying somthing goodm people just copy that terrible excuse of a fps cod now

  • @jsh020 what are you talking about? This game is a Doom clone of death.

  • @helgih580 every shooter ever in the 1990's = doom clone, the only reason this looks like doom is cause every shooter had to look like it, fps's were a new genre so no shit it will look like it,

wild arms uses a turn base system does that make it a FF rip off?

  • @jsh020 yup. It's all the same shit if you haven't noticed already.

  • @helgih580 wow you must have a really shitty gaming lif eif you think every game thats in the same genre is a rip off

whats next are you gonan tell em half life 2 is a halo rip off and blazblue is a guilty gear rip off

  • i remember playing the demo of this, thought the graphics were absolutely awesome

  • Insomniac made this so go buy resistance 3,plain and simple

  • who knew that the future has a rundown facility overun with firebreathing monkeys and a guy with a gun for a croch has to randomly go through it to get to a portal...... ah the future

  • ...although i can pretty much tell that you were nervous the whole mission haha

    no criticism intended though

  • i remember how scared i was to even open the first door in Triton (this stage) x]

  • And then Spyro was made :D

  • NOSTALGIA ATTACK!!!!

  • Best FPS for PS1 ever.

  • im 19, i remember playing this when i was like young as hell this and MSG1

  • retro :L

  • yeah, you are pretty liberal with the ammo. it's an early survival horror in the same vein as resident evil as far as weapon conservation.

  • Stupid fire-breathing monkies...

  • aw man, i loved this game. gave me nightmares because i was only 9 years old. ^^ what a cool time when i reminisce about that. really a great game.

  • Yay for no european release

  • @SirBlendalot what are u talking about??? the game was released in europe on december 1996.

  • God I remember hating this lvl. Fun game but it was a bitch to beat

  • I remember this game! It's like Star Wars: Dark Forces meets Blake Stone -- a modernized (for the time) Blake Stone. I never liked the idea of the "18mm automatic" being 18mm. Keep in mind that 12-gauge in metric is 18.4mm but the 18mm automatic in this game sounds like a peashooter and never kills anything with one shot like a bullet or slug of that size should. I think they should have made it 10mm or something (also NOT a peashooter). Something more believable.

  • Damn. Even with their first game Insomniac was all about creative weapons.

  • Amazing games

  • I remember playing this back in the day on PS1. I still think it's as good as Doom. Loved it.

  • u don goofed

  • bloody good game

  • *plugs psx to the TV, Inserts Disruptor*

    aaaaaaah.. good old memories!

  • one of the best games i have ever played.....my dad gave all of my games and playstation away for free....im pissed off

  • I love this game, the gameplay is near perfect. One of my personal favorites on the Playstation, along side Die Hard Trilogy, and Metal Gear Solid.

  • i want this game now

  • i want this game but its not released in europe q.q

  • Wow, what smooth framerate and sprites, why couldn't PS1 ports of PC FPS's play this smooth?

  • @sonicfan966 Well, the PS1 ports of Doom were looked at as the best console ports of Doom until Doom hit XBLA, and I really loved the PS1 port of Quake II which is one of the most impressive technical feat on the system. It runs smooth, and even plays better the n the N64 version. It just depends on the game and the developer I guess.

  • Man, you make me want to go out and buy most of the games you make videos for. You record videos of a lot of bad-ass games. This looks awesome.

  • @JustCause2Club I have a number of vids. I titled them "The first ten minutes of [RPG's name]" RPGs are hard to get good footage of, because they take a good long while to get into. I also have an old tribute to PS1 RPGs.

  • Looks incredible.

  • That actually seems like an awesome game.

  • Graphics aren't bad for PS1

  • This looks pretty decent for a PS1 shooter.

  • same gameplay idea of bioshock

  • @Konicava Not exactly. Bioshock took after System shock which came out in 1995.

  • @teh2Dgamer lol all wise teh2dgamer.

  • @Konicava What can I say, my geekyness knows no bounds.

  • Man, this game looks awesome. I think I might pick this up some day since I loved the Resistance. Is it dual-analog by the way?

  • @JerichoSupporter Nope this game has absolutely no analog support. It was released in November of 1996, and predates the dual shock.

  • @teh2Dgamer

Damn! How's the controls like then compared to MoH?

  • @JerichoSupporter It controls just fine when you consider that it's not as complex a design as the later fully 3D FPS games. You don't have to look up and down. The auto aim does it for you like it does in Doom. It really depends on weather or not you're used to the pre-analog stick control schemes in FPS games.

  • I bought this game earlier this year for 5 bucks of course. I almost didn't buy it because it seamed like just a plain shooter until I understood the psychic powers to heal, drain, and shock. which added a whole new element to the game. I kept running out of ammo and dieing until I started using the psychic powers like you're supposed to. It's a great game despite the N64 like fog in the foreground. Gameplay and sound are great.

  • This game looks fun. :)

  • Thank you for this video. I was trying to remember what the name of this was, but it slipped my mind! Now that I've got the name, I can start eBay hunting for this!

  • This is rather awesome looking for Insomniac's first PS1 attempt.

  • @yewles1 Its not their first PS1 attempt, its their first game attempt in general

  • this game looks awesome
