I used to play this way fucking back in '97-'98. I always figured the reason for the lack of ammo was to encourage you to rely more on your psi abilities, the problem was that your psi abilities just didn't seem all that interesting and didn't seem to much more than what your higher end regular weapons did.
I will say this, it wasn't without it's charm, it was definitely quirky, and the level design for it's time was very good. But overall I just don't think the game has aged that well at all.
@redbuck82 no sadly it doesnt, i just bought the game for 5 bucks the other day,, ah the golden age of gaming, back before it was so mainstream where every dev copies whats popular to everydetail, grnated back then when people copied somthing they were actually copying somthing goodm people just copy that terrible excuse of a fps cod now
@helgih580 every shooter ever in the 1990's = doom clone, the only reason this looks like doom is cause every shooter had to look like it, fps's were a new genre so no shit it will look like it,
wild arms uses a turn base system does that make it a FF rip off?
who knew that the future has a rundown facility overun with firebreathing monkeys and a guy with a gun for a croch has to randomly go through it to get to a portal...... ah the future
I remember this game! It's like Star Wars: Dark Forces meets Blake Stone -- a modernized (for the time) Blake Stone. I never liked the idea of the "18mm automatic" being 18mm. Keep in mind that 12-gauge in metric is 18.4mm but the 18mm automatic in this game sounds like a peashooter and never kills anything with one shot like a bullet or slug of that size should. I think they should have made it 10mm or something (also NOT a peashooter). Something more believable.
@sonicfan966 Well, the PS1 ports of Doom were looked at as the best console ports of Doom until Doom hit XBLA, and I really loved the PS1 port of Quake II which is one of the most impressive technical feat on the system. It runs smooth, and even plays better the n the N64 version. It just depends on the game and the developer I guess.
@JustCause2Club I have a number of vids. I titled them "The first ten minutes of [RPG's name]" RPGs are hard to get good footage of, because they take a good long while to get into. I also have an old tribute to PS1 RPGs.
@JerichoSupporter It controls just fine when you consider that it's not as complex a design as the later fully 3D FPS games. You don't have to look up and down. The auto aim does it for you like it does in Doom. It really depends on weather or not you're used to the pre-analog stick control schemes in FPS games.
I bought this game earlier this year for 5 bucks of course. I almost didn't buy it because it seamed like just a plain shooter until I understood the psychic powers to heal, drain, and shock. which added a whole new element to the game. I kept running out of ammo and dieing until I started using the psychic powers like you're supposed to. It's a great game despite the N64 like fog in the foreground. Gameplay and sound are great.
Thank you for this video. I was trying to remember what the name of this was, but it slipped my mind! Now that I've got the name, I can start eBay hunting for this!
Lol i played it in 1996-7-8 :) on my first console PS :) first game i every played on PS

First Doom, then Halo and now Call of Duty. It seems that at any given time there's a staple FPS that every other developer copies from.

Same people behind the Resistance series made this. Classic game.

yeah, you are pretty liberal with the ammo. it's an early survival horror in the same vein as resident evil as far as weapon conservation.

@JerichoSupporter Nope this game has absolutely no analog support. It was released in November of 1996, and predates the dual shock.
