It was one of three possible targets (the other two were ruled out due to weather - Hiroshima was the best window). The Japanese still didn't back down, so we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. @SNguyen93 You do realize that the bomb we dropped on Hiroshima was a target because there was a large Japanese military base in the city, right? It was one of three possible targets (the other two were ruled out due to weather - Hiroshima was the best window). The Japanese still didn't back down, so we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. Nagasaki was also of great military importance as it produced many military equipment and was a major seaport. Research your facts more.
