I understand what the amendment says... and even if it were properly ratified, you still need to show me a law that requires me to pay a tax on my income. the 16th amendment doesn't say that I am required to pay tax on my labor simply allows congress powers to do such. reason congress hasn't created this law is because then we would know that all this time never has such a law existed.

the 16th amendment gives no new powers of taxation. what could be more clear than that? the Congress never passed a law requiring you to pay income tax because it is unconstitutional.
