  • i watched a documentry on this! it was well good

  • China did host a very successful Olympics and despite the controversies leading to before and during the Games, overall I was impressed by their dedication and anticipation towards this event.

  • Such amazing arcutecture - I hope they make such stunning buildings in London!

  • love the 'bird's nest' and 'water cube'

  • WOW you were there live? i so wanted to come to china

  • BEST OLYMPICS EVER!!!

  • I would love to swim in the [H2O]^3! Awesome video!

  • Köszönjük a 3 ezüstöt Cseh Laci! :)

    Szép volt!

    Go Hungary! Go !

  • China did a very good job for the olympics. A very nice environment for athletes!!

  • GOOD LUCK TEAM GB

  • Whoa look at the architecture

  • good job your give your best..

  • Newscasters are saying there may never be a finer water sport facility ever built. The Olympics, unfortunately, do not make money, when you consider the added cost of infrastructure. With the inexpensive labor available in China, this facility still cost 200 million US. Outside of China, that cost would no doubt be closer to 400 million.

  • the workers get less money, but you must remember, things here cost less, like geniune dvds, and a bowl of noodles. 2 dollars

  • anbadream: You must over-paid. A bowl of noodles in China costs US$ 0.70.

  • FYI, a bowl of noodles does NOT cost US$0.70, or 2 dollars. Besides, have you even been to china?

  • a bowl of noodles:0.2-0.3$

    大约1.5-2.0RMB一碗面条.

    7RMB=1$

  • ..don't worry kids, everything is paid for: by sponsors :)...

  • ahhhh....now i will pack up and move into the cube ,that is all :)

  • an other beautiful building,,china,,you must be very proud,,,well done.

  • this building is beautiful,,wow,,,well done china.

  • WOO! I researched this back in like Feb. for a school club.

  • good job to all the countries out there and good luck

  • i saw the swimming event america pwned i only saw 2 groups of countries compete the first group was in

    1st place-america

    2nd place-australia

    3rd place-sweden

good job to those 3 countries they made their country proud

    2nd group tht i saw

    1st place-France

    2nd place-Italy

    3rd place-South Africa

once again good job to those countries they made their country proud

  • First green Olympics! Well done China!!

    Go world!!

  • this is wiked

  • holy shit amazing

  • 80% of the water used in competitions is recycled, and it doubles as a green house

  • the swimming and diving is held there

  • overrated. only looks good at night. looks shitty in daylight. Brits architectures suck. Americans are the best.

  • really? americans are the best?? i would like to see what the olympic will be like in the us in the feature... hahaha... the olympic in china... everyone like it so much and in the pass no country have ever spend that much money on the olympic than china... i can not say anything about the feature... but as for now the one in china broke all the recard... like the anound is spend in it and all the ppls that attent and all the space that took up and the fire work.

  • looks shitty in daylight? hv you even been there to see it?

i went to see the olympics, say this water cube, and it was gleaming under the sunlight, very beautiful!

  • a very impressive building wow...

  • Amazing video!!! THank you for posting it.

It freaks me out sometimes that Man (or women :) can think and build these types of things. Human race/mind IS incredible!! To invision this and build it! wow!

Those Australians are sooooo mart. hee hee. just had to go there.

    bye :)

    ls

  • WOW! Thanks for the vid, I had to see what it looked like inside. :)

  • I want a water cube! These olympics are going to be awesome!

Ahem!!! Harmony, people! HARMONY! One world one dream, one time for everyone to get along and stop saying hateful things to each other! Play nice, children!

  • anyone who thinks that the grammar is wrong is damn stupid

  • You're half right. During the day time, it really looks like a sore thumb sticking out. Almost like a Mcdonalds playground right in the middle of the city.

But at night, it's the most beautiful thing! Works very well with the night scene.

  • the opening ceromny was imense, and one of the best so far - especially the lighting of the tourch

    well done bejing

  • The building was designed by Australians not Chinese

  • and engineered and built by the British.

Pity they couldn't have done a pool like this in Syndney though.

  • are you retarded? The water cube is by far the state of the art pool stadium in the world, and it wasn't only built by the british but also by the Americans, Germans, and ofcourse the chinese. do u even know wat material the water cube is made off and how it saves more then 50 percent of its energy efficiency through their sophisticating architectural engineering.

  • no it was actually design by the chinese by the australian helped alot in the constuction of it, i watched da damn documentary on national geography channel.

  • I will go to Beijing in 2009. I can't wait to see beautiful Beijing.

  • aussies 4 gold.

  • WELCOME TO THE GOOD LUCK BEIJING 2008 SWIMMING CHINA OPEN?????? @ 1:51 they should hire someone who can write proper english.

  • the name of the event was 'the good luck beijing 2008 swimming china open'.

    the english is correct.

  • they had spend billions dollars for whole Beijing olympic's projects, and u think they gonna make a mistake likes in grammar issue? what a noob...

  • All that great architecture and all you noticed were the words on a flash screen...

  • Don't mind him or her, he or she is stupid.

  • Very cute and sexy commentator

    She is pretty and sexy.

  • What a modern design, when are they swimming the 400m relay men any1 know?

  • goo Dominican Republic you'll win! :D

  • Good luck,Beijing!

  • i wana b an architecture

  • First you'll have to learn how to spell.

  • AHAHAHA lol, well said :)

  • actually as long as you can understand wat zenfaith is saying he or she is writing proper english. when da english writing was first introduced, there weren't n e standard for spelling words, as long as people understood and spell out of the written words easily then its an eligible english writing. Shakespeare has around dozens of different way to spell his name and his play book. we just end up standerising words for the simplicity. so zenfaith writing is correct.

  • Great pool.i'll like go to olymplic but i gotta go work.i'm going to watch olympic on youtube.

  • AWESOME

  • aaah

i cant wait to watch em swim in that pool.

    [[on tv]]

  • water cube beijing olympics, [H2O]^3

    882akpc 水立方 []

  • good

  • Beijing has recently ruined the Water Cube's wonderful interior with all these very colorful, boarderline-rainbow, Olympic banners. It's horrible! :(

They should have kept it to a blue "Look of the Games" in there.

  • the 'look of th games' includes all colors -- i don't think they're designing them separately for each venue. whether they're attractive or not is a matter of taste. i think i would have preferred mostly blue as well.

  • historry00maker, and everyone.. PLEASE no name calling to individuals or groups. please.

  • dfss11 is an idiot

  • very unique and intersting

    well built lol impressive

    except for the toilet,,,(1:40)

  • go china

  • jajajaja DFSSS11 ARE YOU CRAZY?, OPEN YOUR EYES, IDIOT, IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BUILDING

JAJAJAJAJAJAJ ALOKEVINIMOS, COLOMBIA VA A ARRAZAR PURO CHILE

  • stunning!

  • they need some more lightning in that place. it is very dark. i hope china has money to get some electricity in this building. no lighting looks pathetic and dead.

  • you're joking, of course. i assume by 'lightning' you mean 'lighting'. this building is water and light -- it uses light so creatively it stuns the visitor. it's been alight for months already. i see it every day and it's awesome.

the insinuation that china can't properly display this is simply an attempt to insult.

  • if you want to see a huge selection of pictures that support what is ay, visit my flickr page with photos of this and other venues. i have the same username there. you'll see that your comment was completely off target.

  • look 3:01

  • dude the water cube is one of the most efficient building in the world when it comes to using energy. the bubbles you see outside of the cube actually acts like a green house that traps the suns ray and that heat is converted to energy at the most effective way possible. they claimed that they will save around 60% of energy cost compare to wat it would normally take to run an Olympic size pool stadium. watch the national geography documentary abt the water cube to learn more dude.

  • Amazing, the most beautiful olympic building ever!

  • es precioso

  • I've only gotten to see the outside, but the inside is soooo awesome!

    Go China! and

    America (Micheal Phelps)!

  • vamos colombia a arrazar con las medallas...

  • awesom

    go team china

    beat america

  • I look foward to seeing Australia dominate in this pool

  • you mean America?? lol jk. Vaioleto is right, if you want something extremely crazy ass and insane. Leave it to China, and all will be well.

  • NICEEEE

  • its amazing woow!!

  • it's totally amazing! can you believe it's a aquatics center from outside? it's incredibly cool~

  • awesome!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome! Beijing is the place all the great architect wanna go! because beijing could make their dreams come ture! Beijing will also make our dream come ture! gd luck Beijing!

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawesome! Beijing is the place all the great architect wanna go! because beijing could make their dreams come ture! Beijing will also make our dream come ture! gd luck Beijing!

  • i just got back from china and i saw this building! it is so cool! beijing is really honored to hold the olympics this year

  • thanks for this video...amazing footage

  • Not the worst place to drown eh?

    Coolest architecture of Beijing

  • ok. I will try to burst one of those bubbles with a knife.. =P

  • it's very tempting, isn't it? ;)

  • just because it reminds you of bubble wrap -- but this is a beautiful building and if you see it live you'll want no such thing.

  • Are we suppose to be laughing?

  • LOL, tried it. Each as hard as concrete wall.

  • expression of modern art

    +

    openess of Chinese people

    = water cube

  • this is aaaaawesome

  • they still need to work on their translation

  • whoa. i would love to go to china and see this venue in person.

  • You'll be able to see it in August when the Olympics start.

This architecture and the bird nest thing are really unorthodox design wise and fascinating. Trust China to build something completely batshit insane and cool. lol

  • This stadium was engineered and designed by Australians. The plastic was by Germany. China simply constructed it.

  • hmm...do I smell racism???

  • the stadium was co-designed by chinese and europeans for your info

  • poli omorfo video...

ali8eia vgalane feta emmental ? lol

  • thanks... hey do the same for the National Stadium when completed....

  • i'm revisiting the watercube towards the end of february for the diving event... and yes, i'll hopefully be visiting more venues, the nat'l stadium most definitely on the list. keep an eye out for my videos ;)

  • that's very nice! When did you get there at twilight?

  • yep... that's why the sky's that color blue.

  • r u an olympic athlete or somethin?

  • um. no. lol. i'm just ... there.

  • Thank you for theis fantastic virtual tour of the water cube!!!

  • powerful track, great timing... great to see Beijing living up to its potential... love it!
