jimmy kunes has a blues voice people would go to the crossroads for !!!! the man can sing anything, free + faces + willie dixon = kunes.... guys amazing, and a good dude.
What a waste, someone posted their first live stuff for 30 years under "CUCTUS" instead and hardly anyone has found it ... :-( Search this "Cuctus Live @ B.B. King - "One Way or Another" (Part 3) " ...Live from New York City June 3 2006 Jim McCarty (Guitar), Carmine Appice (Drum), Tim Bogert (Bass), Jimmy Kunes (Vocal) and Randy Pratt (Blues Harp) the place is packed out
just as good as ever...I do miss Rusty's personality (R.I.P. more than you had those last months bro)...great moment from a "muscular" American band. (new singer is pretty good. Should play his own harp, but then ya can't have it all)
Look at how Tim glares at the harp player at 1:37 and says, "E". He's one intense dude! McCarty is a super nice guy & a huge talent. I'm glad to see The Rockets have reformed. I think Jimmy was always happiest working with Johnny "Bee" and his Detroit buddies..
pure and perfect American Rock.thanks for making my day with such perfection in music!even if my wife doesn't like it but who cares?she will get used to it,I promise
Wow. One of my all time heroes from the Dee-triot Wheels: Jim McCarty! Interesting how he progressed from a beautiful clean American sound (Byrdland/Gretch thru a Fender amp) into a Les Paul Style thru a Marshall British Blooze Demigod. Totally on the par of Zepplin at the time just a hit tune away from Super stardom. Carmine and Tim still sound great. Where did they find such a perfect singer for them? America Rocks!
some one was a lucky B*****d to be sat with those guys, and to be able to film it too, you coulda kept it for yourself but you posted it here for all to see, Thankyou, your a gentleman and a Scholar...
I've had the pleasure of getting a bass lession from Tim[hope for more in 09]and came away not only in awe of his complete knowledge of the instrument, but also by the gracious and kind character of the man-
Yep, saw them open for Hendrix in Baltimore. Was a big Hendrix fan at the time, but they stole the show. IIRC they opened with 'Swim'... That was it for me. Got to meet JM many years later in Ann Arbor, MI... Quite the gentleman. Hope they get to do more.
Fox Theater Hackensack NJ,1970 Capitol Passaic NJ 1971 Pocono Raceway Festival 72. I was trying to get Jim's sound for 30 yrs since I was 13! I now own 2 orig. 67 Ampeg Scramblers!! Long live Sonic Rock! R.I.P Rusty
