this ending was a deleted scene because they didnt say erin was pregnat in the movie, the deleted the scene where they say it so if you dont know that you could not figure out who is the woman being interview and, is it just me or in the movie they dont show when leatherface cut his arm? he cut it when he was chasing erin and he felt?
im glad that they didn.t used this one as an ending or the other one as beginning because i prefer the creepy black and white footage of police officer investigating in the house, when i first see the swat entering the house of leatherface is more sounds to me like the saw film.. leatherface is just an ordinary killer that time and can be killed with a gun not like jigsaw that has many trick..
i think i understand. when that guy is interviewing erin it is in the future (possibly near the year 2003) and when he's talking about autopsy photos in it is obviously the body that was on the bed. meaning that like a couple of days after she escaped she told the government and they sent the swat team. the hewitts left the body as a decoy and they fled from the area
From what i make of this alternative ending is that the police raid this unknown premises and kick down the door to find what i assume is another victim of leatherface's and that is leatherface hobblin off at the end . .

B) And also im no policeman but surely when the police raid somewhere they cover all angles so who they are after cant get out?!! YET LEATHER FACE TROTS OFF!!!!

It appears to me that he got bored with borrowing faces and made himself a full body out of that fat woman that lived in the house. I think what was in the bed was another "fat suit". When you see the body in the bed, notice it doesn't have feet. I'm guessing that's so it fits better?

If the woman said he had one arm and they found the dead person in the bed,they could still drive around the state to try to find him.At the end you could see this guy looking a different way.

@hardcoreocealot thats not a good idea because leatherface is based on a serial killer named ed gein, and if you read the story of this guy he was caught by the police in 1973, this was like they're last victims, so he cant be free, he was caught at that same year, i think original ending its better, it fits better with the story
Personally, I think the body on the bed may have been the morbidly obese "tea lady" or another of Leatherface's victims, and he could have been wearing padding so that atleast from a distance he would have appeared physically similar to that person. Just my theory, could be wrong.

The police had interview Erin and shows her the autopsy photo showing a group of police inspector with a dead body of a guy. However Erin stated that the dead man is not Leatherface. Somehow the dead man has two arms. And Leatherface had one. (Erin previously chop off one of his arm)
