OMG Graahhhhhhh. NEVER NEVER NEVER use an antarctic wind here, you really dont need one. 1 Potion/spending 5 mins to train is a much better cause, saying as you can beat the djinn in one turn using just 1 antarctic wind, also there's a boss called the salamander which is very hard, but weak to ice. Soulreaver, if you really wanted to save time, you should have saved your antarctic wind for a battle where it would have more use. Thumbs up so people can see.
Man FF sucks sometimes when u forget to save for a really long time than u die and its like FUCK! and then u shut off the console and go do something else since your so pissed off that all that work was for nothing...
OMG! I am so fucking lucky! After this battle (I wanted to make a new one and follow your guide ^^) I got a fucking Bacchus's Cider! WTF! UBER AWESOME-SAUCE-NESS!! For all you who are wondering, Bacchus's Cider is really a word, and it casts haste, but is in the form of an item. Also, at Djinn, in another part of the game, in ANOTHER game, I got a rare Sheep Pillow! It casts Sleep.. :D 2 RARE items from the FIRST 2 BOSSES!
for a guy that doesn't want to waste money. You sure buy alot of weapons that you dont need. For example you could have found two more longswods by going back to the dungeon via gave entrance instead of buying one.
@Xman42635 Or, you know Final Fantasy VII, VIII, X and roughly about half of the Final Fantasy games don't involve the Crystals at all. Now if you asked what an "old school"" Final Fantasy game would be without Crystals to protect-then the answer might be Final Fantasy VI.
@DJGamer Dissidia, pretty much established that things like magicite and materia were the new types of crystals that in a way are to be protected. All of the FF's have had these kinds of crystals that are not directly refered to as such.
Whenever I fight this boss, I tend to just use both Arctic winds to knock most of it's HP down. After that, all you have to do is attack twice while dual wielding the best weapons you get in that dungeon. I don't have to use a potion once with that strategy.
@VyseElric I try to svba emy anatratic wings and psell items in general as they come in very handy for certain bosses ( for antartic wind it's really good against the boss that protects the fire crystal. But Anartic wind is even better

@DJGamer Actually, crystals are central to almost every FF if you ask me... they are one of the most important recurring elements of the series.
Even the ones you mentioned have crystals... FFVI = Magicite, FFVII = Materia, FFVIII = Lunatic Pandora's Crystal pillar, etc.

FF1 did have a map :3 ... I forgot the name of the witch who was missing her crystal ball (Matoya I think) but if you talk to the brooms they say:
"Tceles b hsup" which if backwards read
"Push B Select". If you do so the world map appears :D

It's nice that they put original battle system in this version, even the MP points are same like in Famicom version of FFIII.
