  • love this song , tried to play this on my drum kit couldn't keep it up

  • the band that blew my mind as a kid and still do - absolutely magnificent

  • hay una persona de 65 a la que no le gusta esta genialidad, de verdad te digo, no tienes oido el teclado es fascinante

  • Was this from Riverside?

  • Prime Minister's Office....Prime Minister speaking.

  • Great basswork, sort of Southern Death Cult vibe...great times..still their best track is "Continent".

  • @Kinburst - Yes, I love the bass playing on all the Danse Society's tracks. Tim Wright is an excellent bassist. Even the drummer, Paul Gilmartin is awesome. I think their main strength was in the way the rhythm section sounded and how the keyboardist, Lyndon Scarfe played some gorgeously melodic parts .

I think they were musically on a far more interesting plane than Southern Death Cult and even Bauhaus.

  • What a great band. Too bad they didn't see the light of day.

  • Shame that the Danse Society never got the support from their record company that they needed. I am related to Paul and saw them play in a club in Keighley. I wish I had Seduction on CD instead of just vinyl - records are just too much trouble these days.

  • they reissued all the releases a while back..I bought them all on CD. Still have my vinyl "heaven is waiting" though. Love it..

  • @tractordave- Yeah, I know what you mean. You should get the Seduction album on CD. I got it recently via Amazon. It's a masterpiece! Brilliant tracks and definitely up there amongst the greatest songs ever made.

Glad to know you are related to Paul (Paul Nash, the guitarist or Paul Gilmartin, the drummer?).

  • Nice work. keep it up. mean time come for social media marketing for esteembpo**com eftjh

  • Danse society is the perfect embodiment of the darkwave sound. I just found Seduction on vinyl and am pretty damn happy about it actually.

  • could someone please tell me what are the lyrics to this song Danse Society - Falling Apart... it's a fantastic song...but I just cannot find any lyrics.. Thanks in advance.

  • I work with the guitarist Paul Nash at a college that offers Access To Music courses in North Yorkshire. It's class, awesome bloke :]

  • Tell him Jazza says it's time they reformed. They were the best of the goth bands.

  • Seconded!

  • woowowoww!!

  • Qué tiempos aquellos... que jamás viví :(

  • Still got everything they ever made - long live 12" vinyl

  • The lead singer,Steve Rawlings sounds of Danse Society sounds a bit like Phil Oakey from The Human League.

  • Haha. Yes, I think equally. They sound alike a bit. Maybe more in other songs that in this one.

  • Both The Human League and Danse Society are from South Yorkshire in England. So, there is one more connection!

  • Oh! One more: Both are cute to me :D

  • Although I heard about this band quite a few years ago, I just listened to their song for the very first time. Interesting song. Thanks for uploading.

  • Early danse society is freaking amazing.

  • xcellent great musician ship powerful

  • This was for sure their best era. Then they began to change the sound, and I've never loved their posterior works as much as the early releases, particularly their debut album, "Seduction: The Society Collection".

  • kennt noch jemand das memphis in dortmund...? beste disco die es je gab für wave, goth etc....laufpogo as well....wurde dort oft gespielt mit viel trockeneis auf der fahrbaren tanzfläche...memphis for ever

  • The greatest band I've ever heard!

    Let's dance (forever)!

  • love the Danse Society. Would like to know what they are doing now, especially Tim :)

  • Tim (of Danse Society) lives & works in Manchester doing computer programming or something.

  • @Problem17 They have reformed now with a new singer! New album out this year. Look for THE DANSE SOCIETY REFORMATION PLOT on Facebook to follow all new updates.

  • @Problem17 i heard they're back :)

  • @Problem17 they have actually reformed and touring from June 2012. watch out for The Danse Society Reformation Plot on Facebook ;) xx

  • Oh my word...I can't believe this footage exists. Thank god for Youtube! seduction is still one of my fave albums... pure genius. These guys were such a powerful team... unbelievable.

  • barnsley wankers

  • Yes I will follow...

Every time a Danse Society video has been posted!

  • I was goth and I didn't even know it! Reminds me of Cocteau Twins' dream guitar and the harder edge you found in The Fields of the Nephlim.

  • great stuff , i would love to see more of them songs like my heart, angel

  • The Cure meets Southern Death Cult... i'm loving this & everything on Seduction at the moment. just when i thought i had heard all the good 80s goth-rock bands... sounds like a tiring song for the drummer though ;-)

  • Were a great band!!
