The way I see it, the applause at the beginning is what would be in his head. Sort of like he's remembering the crowd, and it's energy etc, from the night. I could (am probably, ha!) wrong, though.
Amazing, straight out kills the version of this song on the album, its like he sang this with more heart than what he did for the cd. The whole concert is great tho, def recommend watchin it if u can.
the applause is just eddited in thats all i think its becouse this is one of the only release of this song and u dont want one in the charts with applause all the time ^^

I think he just felt amazed. From his life, from the stage where he did his dvd, from everything in his life. That's Jason, he often likes being alone and thinking about life. I wanna know what he's thinking while he sang this song. Maybe something like "I'm happy." or just nothing.. maybe he just loved the moment when he was alone on this stage.
