personally i don't know who was byrd burton. may be i 've heard his music or either way but i believed he must be a good and a kind man since most of us admired him. well, let us all prayed may his soul rest in peace in the Kingdom Of God.

When I was trying to get a foothold as a studio engineer in Nashville, I had the good fortune of working on some sessions with Byrd. More than anyone else present, he made an effort to make me feel like I "belonged". He seemed genuinely interested in me as a person--but then, he seemed that way with everyone. I will always remember his kindness and fine musicianship.

I recorded an album in 97 at Sessions Studio in Nashville...I believe Byrd was on the lead guitar. He was xtra nice and a great lead player...

I knew Byrd back in the late '70s & '80s, last saw him around '92, he was a great friend. I was privileged to watch him in action at Tree, awesome musician & engineer. He loved my cooking, I've got a few pix of him having a Thanksgiving dinner with my family. I lost touch with him over the years but will always remember him fondly.

Barry was not only one of the greatest guitar players, but one of the nicest people I ever met. We became good friends when we were both under contract to Sam Phillips in Memphis in 1973. His playing and sound were so distinctive, you can pick it out regardless of who's record he was playing on. "The End is Not in Sight" is a masterpiece. Jerry Dycke
