notts county are the oldest LEAGUE club, sheffield FC have never been in the top 3 divisions so they're not counted as a professoinal team

They're the oldest club, but they weren't the first. The first ever football club was based in Edinburgh.

I think what he meant to say was that Notts County is the oldest club playing in the Football League
