Here you will find videos, primarily of obscure romantic era piano repertoire. I do occasionally play mainstream repertoire, but normally only for my own amusement.

As you can see from my video repertoire, I have a particular interest in transcriptions.
I'm an amateur pianist (had lessons until 16, but didn't play for many years after that). Subsequently self-taught with occasional professional advice.

I also compose and I'm highly interested in improvisation.

Influences: Liszt, Thalberg, Cziffra, my own musical curiosity, and playing arpeggios ;) My favourite pianists include Cziffra, Bolet, Rachmaninov and Michelangeli. I enjoy listening to Liszt, Alkan, Liapunov, Rachmaninov (Symphonic Dances and Isle of the Dead are tremendous) and forgotten romantic era composers too numerous to list.

Pastiche fantasy, my own composition, in the style of Liszt and Thalberg, principally based on a theme fron Donizetti's Don Pasquale. There is also a theme quoted from Bellini's La Somnabula. The final item in the transcriptions recital.
