Alcazaba is a group without boundaries, blending music originating in the ancient sultanates from Andalusia through Mesopotamia to northern India. These diverse musical traditions are linked as all these areas were once under Muslim rule and were therefore influenced by each other. As well as this, the gypsies of Andalusia originally came from northern India. The members of Alcazaba come from extremely different backgrounds but are united by their passion for musical adventure and exploration. The strength of the group lies in the way Flamenco, Arab, Indian and jazz styles are seamlessly and convincingly joined to create a unique and vibrant transcultural sound. Moreover, Alcazaba's music is extremely accessible and appeals to people from all age groups and backgrounds.
Ramón Ruiz - Flamenco Guitar, Attab Haddad - Iraqi Oud, Teymour Housego - Indian and jazz Flutes, Genevieve Wilkins - Percussion and Eva Piñero Mesa - Flamenco Vocals
