I made some hardware changes to my rotating LED POV display so that I can now transfer information via one way IR-link to the device. I coded a drawing program for the device with Java and I used SimpleSerial to establish a serial connection.

PCB etching with 37% H2SO4 (Sulfuric acid) + 30% H2O2 (Hydrogen peroxide) mixed at about 1:1 ratio. Remember to wear safety glasses and protective gloves if you try this as both of them are quite nasty stuff. It might be good to mix a bit of water to the solution because without it the solution seems to be so strong that it tends to eat away the finest details in the mask.
