Dian Dancers was formed with a strong mandate, preserving the Malay Traditions and Cultural Heritage which has been passing on from generations to generations.
With 8 Performing Artistes when they first started in Taman Jurong Community Club, they have been actively involved in the arts scene around Singapore. They then moved on to Yio Chu Kang Community Club and now Kallang Community Club, still continuing to promote Malay Cultural towards our community.
DIAN simply means 'Glowing Light' and the slogan Menyuluh Wawasan Budaya means, 'Passage of Our Malay Heritage'. This has been a strong will since DIAN was formed in 2003.
With 25 dancers up to date, they have been actively involved in the Malay Arts Scene in Singapore. With the guidance of Mr Abdul Yazid Juhuri, Artistic Director & Choreographer, they have been through many festivals and events such as, Atrika Dance Festival, Kampong Glam Hari Raya Lite Up, Gejolak 2007 with Perkumpulan Seni, and Gentarasa 2007 Fringe at Republic Polytechnic and stage their first production in 2007, Ekpressi 2007, "NADI satu titik Permulaan...."on Feb 2009 and many more corporate events .
Their affiliations and achievements is proud for all of us to continue to progress in the Malay Arts Scene in Singapore.
