Aisha Cousins writes performance art scores aka "recipes for beautiful moments". Often site specific, participatory, and public, these performance art scores explore black women's beliefs about beauty and the changes that are taking place in our worlds. Through these performances and their documenation, Cousins engages viewers in examining various aspects of the psycho-social-cultural fabric that connects contemporary black Americans. Cousins' scores have been performed at the Kitchen, the Museum Of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Project Row Houses, TSU (her 1st HBCU homecoming!), as well as the streets of Bedford-Stuyvesant (Brooklyn), Brixton (London), and BarbèsRochechouart (Paris).
