I was a kid in the 80s and late 70s. Some of this stuff really brought back memories for me. But what is surprising, is how these adverts wouldn't look to out of place today. They used the same techniques, ie. subliminal sexual refrences (the flake ad). Also, the general pace of ads today, is only slightly faster, not how I picture it. It just goes to show how some things haven't changed. (rose tinted specs and all that).

At the time I don't think I quite realized that nearly every perfume and chocolate box ad finished with a subliminal "And they had a really goood shag"
