The audience isn't laughing. First of all, they're smiling because they're watching the last living legend of the high time of violin playing - I'd be smiling, too. Secondly, they're smiling and almost giddy with each other because, obviously, there are many many musicians in the audience. Vadim ...

Actually, I believe that small ensembles are quite nice to perform this repertoire. In fact, in the baroque time, one-on-a-part was quite common for concertos, concerti grossi, and the like. But perhaps your comment is made perfectly clear by the first word "Tbh"? I'm not familiar with that one....

I'm really amused by the fact that the grand piano takes up most of the stage, and yet they never touch it.

Sparkling, yet ballsy sound - great! I love the way she just stands and delivers, without a bunch of unnecessary facial/body movement. Nice fiddle, too. :-) (I found no fault in her intonation, and this is Mozart we're talking about here! Hard to play in tune, to say the least.)
Alison Ables composed the music for this, yours truly on the smokin' viola solo.
