Interfaith Respect has long been a goal of the Upper Peninsula EarthKeeper Team in northern Michigan.
On June 4, 2009 President Barack Obama said in Cairo, Egypt that people from different religions should respect each others faiths:
The richness of religious diversity must be upheld ... faith should bring us together..
The nonprofit Cedar Tree Institute in Marquette, MI presents a video series from a wide range of faiths.
We started with three videos featuring Muslim Imam Hassan Qazwini.
We continue with a look at the Jewish faith with Dr. Michael Grossman of Temple Beth Sholom, Ishpeming, MI.
Imam Hassan Qazwini, head of the Islamic Center of America, spoke on Oct. 22, 2008 at the Lutheran Campus Ministry Lothlórien House in Marquette, MI.

President's remarks about respect for womens rights:
I reject the view of some in the West that a woman who chooses to cover her hair is somehow less equal, but I do believe that a woman who is denied an education is denied equality.
Our daughters can contribute just as much to society as our sons, and our common prosperity will be advanced by allowing all humanity men and women to reach their full potential.

"Unafraid" three month Midwest book singing tour:
Author Joy Ibsen starts tour Sunday at her hometown library in Trout Creek, MI.
Joy will appear in Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota bookstores.
"Unafraid" is co-authored by her late father Rev. Harald Ibsen, a Dnish-American Lutheran pastor at numerous churches across the Midwest.
Joy found her dad's handwritten sermons from 40s, 50s in shoebox.
Each chapter: How his sermon affects a congregation member. It's interesting that the same social problems in the 40s and 50s are similar today like war, bad economy, etc.
To purchase Joy's book call 906-852-3479 or 906-401-0109
