Vânia Fernandes was the Portuguese representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia.
Vânia and her backing group performed last (19th) in the contest's second semi-final, on May 22, 2008, and qualified to the final with a 2nd place (120 points), only behind Ukraine's Ani Lorak and "Shady Lady". In the final, "Senhora do Mar" was the 13th song to be performed and finish in 13th, as well, with 69 points.
This song, along with Norway's "Hold On Be Strong", Sweden's "Hero", Ukraine's "Shady Lady" and Switzerland's "Era Stupendo" continually fare well in post-contest fan-based scoreboards.

Sabrina was the Portuguese representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, which took place in Helsinki, Finland.
Sabrina performed in position number 17 at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 semi-final, backed by a mixed pair of dancers and three female singers. The Eurovision version was more Latino-influenced than the version with which she won the Festival da Canção, and the last two chorus were sang in French, Spanish, English and Portuguese. The dance routine was also more elaborated.
Sabrina ended up 11th, just 3 points short of qualification, right behind Moldova (to whom incidentally Portugal gave its maximum points). The song's final ranking was 25th out of 42 countries, making "Dança Comigo" the most successful Portuguese entry since 1998, and the second highest Portuguese scorer ever, with 88 points (after the 92 points from 1996). 44 points came from western European countries (8 points from neighbouring Spain), and 36 points from eastern Europe. It was the highest western scoring song in the semi-final.

Pois isso é bem verdade, porque se a RTP quisesse e divulgasse a nossa musica, éramos capaz de ficar muito melhor classificados e um dia até vir a ganhar.
