Agree with everything Dr. Reich said except we need to lower America's costs. Can anyone tell me why we should tax American production? Can anyone tell me why our tax rates on capital gains should be higher than they are in the communist nation of the People's Republic of China? My plan provides universal health care, invests heavily in K-12 education and expands access to higher education including vocational training while eliminating our deficit and reducing our debt. The legal, internationally acceptable (WTO approved) method of executing this concept is for our federal government to STOP taxing American production. The plan I wrote and Representative Jim Moran sent to CBO for analysis in 2010 works for US. Goods made in the People's Republic of China and everywhere else will be taxed twice: once in the country of origin and in the USA. Consumers of American products will not have to pay the embedded costs of double taxation.
