Hey thanks yeah Kirk only uses that phaser rifle in one episode and it's never seen again in the original series it was the precursor obviously to the Star fleet phaser rifles seen in TNG and DS9 ect.. I think it looks cool.

I wanted to pick up the novelization of the new Star Trek movie as well and compare and contrast the differences I don't know if I'll read it before or after I see the movie.
