Visual Arts Network is the creation of sceneographer and video appropriation artist Ruben Avila of McAllen, Texas. Avila has been involved in video production since he was a pre-teen growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area during the 1970's. His Father, Cleofas M. Avila was an independent film producer from Mexico documenting the migratory patterns of seasonal agricultural workers and their integration into the Anglo culture. In summation, Ruben Avila states, "This is what I've seen in my World."

Visual Artist & Producer Ruben Avila has been around the television field since a teenager growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Now a resident in McAllen, Texas--he serves as a video documentarian of the arts and culture of the Rio Grande Valley region of South Texas and Northern Mexico.
