Studying Media Production at Salford university was my first taste of what I generally refer to as 'Mucking about with video'. Whilst there, I made all kinds of pretentious crap which is (quite rightly) rotting away in a box somewhere and a couple of videos that still make me smile.
I made my first video promo for the song 'Gentle Storm' by Bamboo Soul in 2000. This seemed to go down pretty well when it was shown at the Kino film festival in Manchester. It then went on to be distributed with Flux magazine via the miracle of CD rom.
I produced a couple more videos for the band and these were eventually incorporated into their live act whenever anyone could get hold of a projector.
When the band went their separate ways in 2002 and my day job went it's own separate way shortly after. I got my first VJ residency with the Hip Hop night 'Subtub' at Band on the Wall Manchester, working with Broke 'n' English, DJ Woody, Tonn Piper and Sam Pepper amongst others.
Since then I've VJd for (amongst others), Mylo, Dead Prez, DJ Yoda, Aphrodite, Fabio and Grooverider, Batfinks, Clint Boon, DJ Scud, Richard Hillman, a Stereo MC and Terri Walker. The Late'N'Live stage at Glastonbury, The Snowbombing festival in Les Arc, France and Myrhofen, Austria, the Showskills events in Manchester, Porto and Lisbon, Futuresonic and Eurocultured in Manchester.
The visuals I use are pretty eclectic and can range from spoof adverts to dancing cartoon characters to time lapse photography and still sequences. Forwards, backwards, fast, slow, all mixed together live or mixed with live shots of the night. However you want it. As long as it looks good, fits the mood and sits on the beat, that's the main idea.
Oh, and I can animate your logos, make new footage for and of whatever event you're putting on, use any footage or stills you already have and throw them in the mix too.
And yes, I've got a projector now. Get in touch if you want me to use it at your event.

Yeah. I agree. I've put mine on facebook now. Just for friends. Since I'm not planning to be UEFAs friend, I think I should be ok.
It's a shame though. It was great to capture the moment we won from within the crowd. It's not often you see that perspective. Maybe because UEFA patrol the internet day and night looking for videos to shut down.
And it's not as if anyone would watch my low quality, pixellated video instead of the actual TV coverage.
I would think that leaving my video up would have actually been in UEFAs best interests. It's just a different perspective than the ones we see on TV and surely it can only increase interest in the game.

Were do they get the nerve to go and take down a video for copyright infringement when we went to all the trouble and all the money(1500euro) to get over there and watch that match ? I mean if we want to record something we paid that much money to see we should be able to do with it wat we want, wel at least they cant wipe the memory away from us, thats something that ill remember til my dyin day !!
