Taare Zameen Par, India's official entry to the Oscars, is out of the Oscar race in the 'Best Foreign Film' category. The irony of the situation for Aamir is that on one hand while his Ghajini is breaking records, the news of TZP being out of the Oscars must have broken a million hearts, including his.
The 9 films that will advance to the to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category include: Revanche (Austria), The Necessities of Life (Canada), The Class (France), The Baader Meinhof Complex (Germany), Waltz with Bashir (Israel), Departures (Japan), Tear This Heart Out (Mexico), Everlasting Moments (Sweden) and 3 Monkeys (Turkey).
This is actually the second time that Aamir has lost out in the race to the Oscars, the first time being Lagaan, though back then the film had reach the final round. One just hopes that the saying of 'third time lucky' really rubs off on Bollywood's very own 'prized possession' Aamir Khan!

Oscars might be most prestigious award, but they have mindset for all Hindi movies, no one can explain why no Hindi movie got an Oscar ever? They are biased and India shouldn't send their entry to Oscar till they really want presence of world's largest movies industry in their function. Indian film industry is going on right track and making some really good movies. They should release those good movies with English subtitle all over US and not send to Oscar.

Slumdog Millionaire story had earned Hollywood recognition only because, although based on a novel by an Indian writer, it had been "conceived and cinematically put together by a Westerner".
My view
Hollywoods afraid of competition, India is a developing country and the movies are growing from strengh to strengh. Its all politics.

Barack Obama is going to put the word United back into the states. He's motivated, smart and will build good realtionships back out side of America. It deoesnt matter whether he's black but why does it take a black person to unite all races together.
