UC Says They Have Money But It Is "Irresponsible" To Spend It On Us

At the bargaining table, management told us they have the ability to pay our wage proposal, but that it would be "irresponsible" to spend it on frontline workers' wages.

We think it is irresponsible for UC to be unable to recruit and retain the best qualified staff for our patients and students because of the below standard working condition.

We deserve to be treated like other hospital and community college workers who already have steps at market rates, benefits protections, call pay, over pay after shifts, good union-represented jobs, and the many other things we have demanded for our new contract.

UC is not taking us serioudly---let's show them that we are fighting to make 2008 a year of justice for our patients, students, and families!
